BOBP 2nd Flight??

What good is having a "2nd" flight taking off the same field if they just fly off to nowhere? Off line, 8 on 8? Wing men are worthless. Yes, all with the same paint job too!

Depends on the definition of "nowhere".  They might be flying a mission very close to you.  They might be available to help you.  They might draw enemy activity that would otherwise have been directed at you.  You don't know in advance, which IMHO is what makes a mission fun.

They have their own mission, it's none of your business...just do your job. 

 

Aircraft often operated in 4 ship flights over Europe.
