So I won't be purchasing Tank Crew.

Having become very jaded with the arcade tanks in Post Scriptum and Hell Let Loose I figured it was time to revisit IL2 online tank play, with a view to buying it IF there were sufficient players on enough servers AND if what I'd previously read about losers ramming tanks with their planes had lost its appeal to said losers. I found one server with around seven players on it, I was the only tanker. I set off in the P3 for the front lines, twenty minutes later I was strafed (no effect), five minutes after that, kaboom, dead. I panned around the wreckage/crater, hoping it was an expertly dropped bomb...nope, there was the rear fuselage and tail of a soviet fighter.

Well done, whoever you were, you just ensured I don't waste my money, to be playing against losers like you. It's a shame because I was overall impressed with how it played.

I hear you. But after the first time you shot one of those dummies with a direct hit of you 88, then it‘s not so bad anymore. ?

The precision bomb hits are only due to aiming assist set active on the server. What makes this a problem is only that none of the pilots care to give you even minimal air cover. To Zap! a tank, you best take a 500+ kg bomb, hence such attackers are in principle very exposed until they dropped their load.

On the other hand, if aiming assist is off, it is often rather simple just driving on the others airfield and neutralize it. Then your rammers are crying about getting abuse.

You are complaining about others behaving like asses on public server.  Unfortunately, to behave like an ass on the internet is pretty much the norm.

1C's games allow for tremendous variations in game play.  Multiplayer, coop and single player are all supported.  All sorts of server configs are available to tailor the experience.  This product allows you to stand up a private server where you can play with like minded individuals.  Stand up a server and bring in people that you trust to behave. If you are not inclined to do that them announce your desire for a certain style of play and join an existing server that supports that.

Demanding that a product eliminate fools on the internet - well, good luck with that.

Kamikaze pilots should be banned, thus making their suicide more immersive.

I've many instances of being rammed and it is a game killer for me too. The silver lining though is when they miss, survive the crash and are rewarded with an 88mm HE precision aimed at their pilot's face. Mmmm, satisfying.

How would you distinguish between intentional and accidental ram? You really have to go in close to hit at times and at high speeds pull up is not that easy anymore.

Also  when people do that, they are far from competent pilots. If that happens I just hop in an aircraft and go having a good time with easy prey. Once they are gone (they tend not to stay then) switch back to tanks.

As of now, IMHO we should welcome anyone on the servers. It‘s just that sometimes one has to adjust to their play style rather them adjusting to our. Better that than an empty server.

I've been invited, very kindly, to play on a private server. If that goes well (and considering who runs it I have no doubt it will) I'll most likely end up purchasing TC after all. :)

IF it was efront then its not a surprise as the russian side have almost 1-3 airplanes in the air nonstop, not always but most often and its common they ram one, myself as a rookie pilot have so far never managed to ram a russian tank but crashing away from them when I notice I came in too low or slow etc: aim at something else than the enemy tank, but seems some think differently. Trying to fly and get them is hopeless as Im no pilot and get shot down pretty easily and it ends up becoming a airbattle instead of a tank battle....

Well if you want to experience a far more realistic and militaristic simulator of handling tanks and do missions and not have such issues and have a good time: feel free to join simulated combat group, every sunday we do semi near military historical missions where we have very realistic battles and tactics and immersion :) Best tanking experiences Ive had in any game.

They need to enable tanks on some more realistic focused servers like combat box. I haven't picked up TC yet because there's really no multiplayer presence and the ai is kinda dumb when it comes to tanks (worse than aircraft). If more servers enabled tanks as part of their mission set it'd make for some fun multiplayer gameplay.
