Hi all. Which servers use Alternate spotting setting please??

AFAIK, none of the 'expert' servers use alternate spotting. KOTA, TAW, WoL, and Combat Box are all using normal spotting. Maybe Berloga, I'm not sure I haven't gone on in a while.

Are you sure about that? I just come from Berloga and to me it doesn't seem they have the "alternate" spotting... OR

my eyes are getting worse and worser and I really need to see a optician, damn.

Unless they have just changed it, they definitely use alternative spotting.

Alternative spotting means that is super easy to see airplanes far away from you, but nothing change when they are closer than a couple of km...

 

So, you can recognise in this way: see an airplane, zoom in and he get smaller, zoom out and he's back to be big...

If this happen, you are in a server with alternative spotting...

After spending some time on Combat Box and Berloga, I’m shocked that there aren’t any other servers using alternative visibility.  From reading some of the other threads on the topic, it sounds like there are plenty of us folks in the same boat who just can’t see a darned thing with normal vis.  It would be nice if there was an option for an objective based server for those of us who are running “casual level” hardware.

I think that after last ptach, the zoom is inverted,  becase when you see a contac in the horizon ( the pixel of a far airplane ) and you push the zoom key,  the pixel dissapear, or it make smaller.

The zoom only work prpertly when the arcraft are near, about 800 metres of distance. At medium distance withing 1 to 2 km. the zoom is inverted, aircraft seem small with zoom in or almost dissapear. 

By the way, it is more easy spot the shadow of one aircraft near you, over the ground than the aircraft who own the shadow. It is a shame.
