Air battle over Nis

Could someone recreate this air battle?

It would be an interesting new setting US  vs the Soviet Union.

This air battle was the only direct conflict that had ever occurred between the USA and the USSR.

 

It could be done in "hacked map" and the Yak 3 could be a Yak?

Not judging you, but why do you want to see Soviets fighting against Americans?
The battle was not intentional, but rather a mistake.

Playing either side knowing that the other side supposed to be allies will ruin the idea behind this incident.
Better do a fictional battle like the new campaign named "Exile", in my opinion.

Interesting idea, but there is a world of difference between a Yak? and a Yak-3, that'd be the "poop™ in the party™" in my opinion

It's just a rare historical scenario to try a different duel between aircraft that were not natural enemies. I am bit bored of the traditional ones and this incident provides the perfect excuse for sth extraordinary.

No politics implied at all! Just to test which one can perform better ????

There were a handful of encounters between the 8th Air Force and Soviet fighters that took place around Berlin in the last few months of the war as well.  Aircraft would be P-51Ds and Yak-3/9, La-5/7 and P-39s.  I’ve thought about trying to put something together but we don’t really have a representative map, or most of the right Russian aircraft.

Well, in that case the Battle of Nis would be a starting point. What about the Lapino map with the P38 against Yak?

Lapino is too flat, Niš is in a valley, surrounded by mountains... Somewhere on the Kuban map might be a better match.
