New question here: Even when creating a new scenario, I'm getting a split in the terrain where it seems like the height map is confused. I'm getting gaps in the terrain in both the mission editor and in the game itself (in the Lapino Summer or Autumn preset). I keep trying to re-load and re-apply the correct presets, but I still get this very bugged terrain with heightmap seams along the edges.  What am I doing wrong? Any ideas?

Hi,

if you don't run the editor and game at the same time (this can cause such problems) 

and if it's not related to this issue (see No_85_gramps and JimTMs answer):

 

 

You can try to check the games integrity

via Steam or if you use the launcher Version: delete the "updates" folder in the "IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of ..."  main folder and start the launcher to analyze the files.

I am having the same issue in the Kuban Summer map.  I have performed an integrity check - integrity check passed - and am not running the mission editor and game simultaneously.  It would appear the port facilities are at a height higher than the surrounding land. Also, I suspect it is related to the same issue, one encounters a "quicksand bog" when driving around the port wall and approaching the sea.  Anyone know how to correct the height problem?  As far as I know, I have set this map up correctly, i.e. GUI map, season, Terrain Presets and importing all four terrain templates.  I have the same problem at the seaside ports in the Kuban map I have sampled.

Did you checked the season prefix in the mission file via a text editor?  (notepad++)

 

If not please delete the missions ".msnbin" file first,

then check in the ".mission" file the line:

SeasonPrefix

It should look like this  for a winter setting:

SeasonPrefix = "wi";   

and like this for summer:

SeasonPrefix = "su";

 

if "su" or "wi" is missing, set it to the season you want. 

 

save it and it should be fine.

No joy!  I deleted the "msnbin" file, verified the Season Prefix="su" was correct and saved the file.  I also opened and saved the mission in the mission editor.  The port facilities are still above the ground level.

To place  (playable/movable) objects there  is simply impossible, everything will sink below the "land" surface to the ground of the sea.

This part of Kuban seems to be just a map moddeling "error". The third picture shows how it should look.

But we need to keep in mind that Kuban was made for flying and fighting with planes. Would it be on the Prokhorovka map, I would say let's report it.

I am sorry to say that I understand - a major bummer!  I guess I will just have to come up with another mission idea that does not involve the sea shore.  Thank you for your input.  I was hoping it was just something I had missed.
