If you could only have 1... What would it be

Decided to do this just as an experiment, but if someone asked you right now if you could only have 1... What would it be?

 

My answers:

1. Definitely BON

2. Tough choice between 1946 and CloD, but overall I'd pick the 1st one because it was the first flight sim that I played and it's kind of the "everything" game

3. Hurricane.

 

Note: More voting options will be added as more items like TC2, FC2 are announced, so if you really like those products more and want to wait until a 2nd installment is announced (hopefully soon) and what content it contains, feel free.

The best plane mix is still BoS. For beauty, BoK. For performance BoBp. But overall, BoS.

Hurricane, not because I love Hurricanes, but all the rest (exc Ju-52, which I don't fly) have close cousins in the game already.

EDIT: I don't want to give the hurricane that much love. I'd rather have the Yaks, but since I already have two of those, then I'd go hurricane. If the question were, what's your favorite collector plane, the answer changes to the La-5.

I have to admit that those are exactly my choices too.

Bon offers (considering that you don't have the others) one of the best mixed sets with exotic attacker planes, fighters and an iconic Channel map?

1946 is like a endless (modding) playground and the Hurricane the clear winner of my heart (even when it is really close to the Ju-52)

1. Kuban - I just love this map, the mountains and scenery are amazing. This map is the primary reason i reinvested in il-2 BOX  series (I have bought all missing content since this map was released because it showed me this series can do so much more...). Further enhanced by the excellent Mods made by the community (Map texture,4k trees, winter map, Kuban playground, to name a few - Many thanks Mod guys!)

 

2. RoF - Still have a soft spot for this game. Got me into flight sims. I have FC but would sooner jump into RoF given the content and plethora of excellent mods available.

 

3. Hurricane - Because it's a hurricane... Also its the first model i ever made when i was about 11yrs old.

My thoughts and votes.

 

1.  Kuban because it offers the most varied scenery of the GB series and so can/has been utilised for many varied missions from the community.

 

2.  Has to be IL-2 1946 modded because of the absolute versatility, not only can I play if I want to anywhere in the world but I can also add actual content in the form of aircraft, buildings and other objects I have made myself as well as from other community members.

 

3.  This was the most difficult, I went for the Hurricane because it is my all time favourite aircraft, however, I cannot imagine not having the Ju-52 and U-2VS in my collection but had to pick one so there it is.

1. Kuban (tough choice but haven't seen Normandy yet)

 

2. Other: Wings Over Flanders Fields Platinum (though BAT modded IL-2 1946 is close).

 

3. Hurricane (quite like La-5FN (but it doesn't fit as well campaigning currently (only very very end of Kuban)).

Bos got a fine mix of planes. Both fighters , attackers and bombers. It do not have these total disintegrating hollywoodish dm. 
I look forward to BON but BOBP is a feast for lurking 109 with 30 mm and it get boring being in the receiving end. 
PO 2 is just great. It simply is awesome to fly. But HS 129 is a close one together with JU 52. 
I wish transport had a major role. But it has evolved to be a fighter focused fps game filled with people looking for easy kills online. Rendering my favorites death traps. 
That brings me to the frustration revealing sim # 1 DCS. And I guess COD 5.0 will be #2 when it comes

1. Because I'm having a blast at the moment in Flying Circus.

2. Other. Don't know that but its none of those games. Rise of Flight would have been my answer in the past but no longer due to answer number 1.

3. Hurricane. Just because seems to be the sole option utilised by Great Britain and other Commonwealth countries.

Kuban has the best scenery and great aircraft though I often find it a shame that nobody flies BoM as the I-16 and Mig-3 are great fun.
Best collector I went for the Ya-1b as it was such a step up from the Yak-1 and is still a good aircraft in the later matchups. 
I chose IL-CLoD because I played it for years and loved it though it is not as good as GB.  I own DCS and used to fly it it but I am not into jets and they dropped the ball on the Normandy project with their weird ahistorical  matchups but mostly I did not choose it because the gameplay is lacking and the servers are not fun.  It is an air display simulator.

U-2VS... Po-2 is the post-war designation  Any easy mistake... I remember people confusing it with the U-2/TR-1 spyplane at one point!

 

I'd definitely pick U-2VS from that list... although having gotten the Hurricane, it is tempting.
