Hello,

I have a problem with the graphics settings.
If I change them in the game and restart the game. the default settings are always active.

Nothing changes at all.

I have restarted the game several times and uninstalled it on Steam. But it does not help.

Always the same graphic settings.

Can anyone help me with this?

Hallo,

Where on your hard drive is the game installed? It sounds like maybe the files are locked as read only or something and the game cannot make the changes in the graphics config file persist.

It is installed like all other games on drive D. How can I unlock the read-only?

Right click on the game folder where you installed IL2, then select "Properties". Here you will see a checkbox callee "Read only". Tick and untick

this checkbox to be sure, it is not active anymore.

I don't know for sure that that is the problem. Do any other games installed on that drive have similar problems? Also, are you running Il-2 as an administrator?

This thread on optimizing graphics settings tells you where to find your config file, among other things:

The thread says the startup config file that has the graphics settings is located at  /steam/steamapps/common/iL-2 sturmovik/data. As the thread advises, do not make any changes to the config file without first making a backup, in case something goes wrong and you have to fix it. Maybe check to see if this file is read only?

Also the thread has some great tips on squeezing the most possible performance out of your settings. It's worth a read even if you don't have problems.

You can always contact Il-2 support and explain your situation. Actually, I would do that soon, it can take them a bit of time to get back to you sometimes so better to 'start the clock ticking' as soon as possible in case you still can't fix it yourself.
