It depends on the ping rate you have to these servers and what internet connection you have.

What do you mean by lag? Online or offline? Are you experiencing stutters, or are you seeing increased 'rubberbanding' of aircraft? If you can, try and record video and/or a track of what you're seeing. Many people are reporting spotting difficulties, some more so than others. It is being looked at by the devs but its a 'no promises' thing. Spotting online seems harder than in single player mode, tbh. Could be a connection thing. By latest update, do you mean 4.004? The last update generally improved performance especially in the Rheinland map as they changed something with the texture loading and rendering. Problems with that (and possibly other things) had been causing stutters mostly in online play but also a bit in single player mode. Most players seem to be reporting improvements. EDIT: Also, your hardware specs and video card driver versions may be useful to see. People with similar set ups may be able to help better.
