??? Is there a bug in the 4.004 Rheinland Map ???

I have edited 2 Bodenplatte missions made earlier. They worked OK first, but after editing the player planes stay underground. Other maps no problems .... FRUSTRATING !

PS  In this case Pe2 and Tempest PLAYERS set to ground, waypoints the same, but the planes (player thus) stay underground. I think by now it is a bug ... ????

It happens in both summer and winter map versions. I noticed that in the winter Rheinland 4.004 version railway tracks seem not to be visible, as they are in the winter Vluki map.

Open the .mission file, it's just a text file, scroll down to the line seasonprefix= and make sure it has either "su" or "wi" after the equal sign as shown here:

GuiMap = "rheinland-summer";

  SeasonPrefix = "su";
  MissionType = 0;
  AqmId = 0;
  CloudLevel = 500;

For some unknown reason the su/wi gets removed while working on a mission, and this has been know to cause the below ground planes.

Further to what Gramps wrote above, if you correct SeasonPrefix, be sure to reopen the mission and save it.

Also, make sure GUI Map, Terrain Presets, and Season are in sync in the mission properties.

My Dumbo Donkey  (again LoL), and i know that ole suwi trick, but did nut realize the opening and resaving in the FMB  .....

And that's where things go wrong; after saving i found for some reason the "wi" turned back to " ".

Keeps doing that for the winter map, the summer one is OK.

I reinstalled the maps from a backup. as i used a modded Rheinland summer recently for testing.

However the winter season prefix keeps resetting itself after saving from the FMB to " " .....

Also after checking GUI Map, Terrainpresets, using Apply etc

The fix was resave mission to msbin in folder !

Moral?: don't use modded maps ...? At least the resave missions in folder is a new trick.

------------------

BTW is there never a sp (ring) or au (tumn) season prefix? Those seasons seem present for Rheinland when selecting terrain presets.

This or delete the msbin file before adding the su/wi and resave the mission file.

This error seems not to be related to modded maps, I never used modded maps and have this issue from time to time, that does not mean that a modded map can't cause problems.

Sorry, I forgot the extra steps.
