Pimax Vision 8KX Snellen Test - 20/20 Readability

Hey guys,

 

the first Pimax Vision 8KX units are out and get sent to the Backers. It seems like the Pimax 8KX reaches 20/20 readability.

That's quite interesting. Testers, VR News and YouTubers consistently say that VR has finally reached Generation 2 with this device and are actually blown away.

 

 

Now all we need is Nvidia to pull out their 3xxx series, AMD reinventing their GPUs, 1CGS to be careful with the deferred rendering experiment (and hopefully bring out a well sanded one), and the other VR HMD manufacturers to pull even.

 

Index 2 HMD in 2020? Would certainly press the price down due to competition. Hoping for it.

you've mentioned that you've ordered a unit when it came out for pre-order (so did I). Did you get any notifications from pimax about it? Order times.. delivery.. etc.. ?  It's quiet on my side so far..

They have stated that they start sending to the 400 backers after CNY and afterwards the pre-orders by order number chronologically.?

I guess you read it on Reddit? there were no comms from pimax directly to me on this..

 

I just looked at my profile and I don't see "pre-order", it's just a simple sales order with a 4 digit number... mine is in 4xxx ?

I was told directly by them. I am in with Upgrade Plan A. I expect to wait till late March however. SO42xx here.

Chinese government extended mandatory NY days off http://www.gov.cn/fuwu/2020-01/27/content_5472377.htm due to Virus outbreak to mitigate the probability of spreading the infection on the workplace, as it would be another hub outside family where people get in contact with one another.

 

Probably April or later, but that's just a guess in the dark. As far as I know, ever since CES and the reportings on Pimax' new products (Artisan, 8K+, 8KX), the orders are rising sharply. The Artisan together with Index Controllers and Basestations as well, as a replacement to the Index at a comparable price.

So if I want an 8KX for IL2, plus a 3080 to drive it, how much do I need to save up for what date? Is mid year reasonable for an Amazon-purchasable 8KX?

Vision 8KX with HiFi drivers $1400. If you have bought a 5K+ or 8K previously or are a backer, then much less. Valve 2 Basestations and Knuckles controllers $600. RTX3080 - no idea yet. The RTX2080ti was $1200 at release.

Even though i bought a 5K+ before i get the same 1399,- pricetag everyone else gets when logging in to their store?
How would i get a discount?
