Hello to one and all i am new to this forum this is my first post I have just registered

After reading on the internet the best place to start is 

IL-2 Sturmovik: Battle of Stalingrad advice please 

I would prefer to purchase and download directly from the developer as it supports them

if I do purchase from the developer will it install  like steam ?

On steam i login pay and it’s installed and automatically updates whenever  I play 

 One more question please 

On downloading will I get the option to choose my ssd to install on 

I have my second ssd just for steam downloads, can I install directly from

What I am trying to ask can I put none steam games on this drive 

Please excuse what my seem a strange question but as a 71yr old simmer I don’t want to make a mistake then try and sort it out My 3yr old pc runs brilliant 

I have virgin super-fast broadband that I run an Ethernet cable direct to my pc it downloads on average 1gb per minute

Hi there,

 

If you purchase from Steam, the updates are done through Steam and if you buy through the IL-2 website itself there's a launcher for the game that also automatically updates you to the latest patch. It's simple and easy.

 

It's been a while since I did an installation of the series but I'm very certain it gives you the choice of where you want to install it. I've got a bunch of drives in my system these days and I have it installed on the third or the fourth one. No problems at all doing that.

Yep just purchase direct from the IL-2 GB website - Battle of Stalingrad was the first and a good one to start with.

I put two shortcuts on my desktop:

1: IL-2.exe

2: Launcher.exe

 

I use the first for just playing the game, and the second for when I know there is an update as it will check for updates first.

I made a similar thread not so long ago. With the discount, you really can't make a bad choice. I bought BOS first since that was the consensus among respondents. I quickly bought BOK. Later, I both BOM on another discount and went ahead bought myself an early Xmas gift and bought BOBP. 

 

I was told if you buy one (on discount) buy all, because you will end up anyway... I laughed it off, well, who's laughing now. ?

Thanks to everyone . I purchased and downloaded from the developer IL2  the battle of Stalingrad Sunday evening , everything was installed flawlessly I got the option to install on the drive of my choice. Just went on this morning  amazing and the engine sounds were brilliant and to my great delight I can drive tanks omg

I asked myself the same question a few days ago. In the end I chose BOK as of the three on sale it has the most aircraft that I want. I've been impressed with what I've seen so far. BOP and the BON pre-order are probably my next buys. Bought directly from the dev
