Kind of impressed there was a bit of a tunnel there, I imagined it was only a black pixel

Neat - awful lot of porpoising/oscillating going on there.

Does the Nevada map get a graphics update in 2.5 or is it the same? Still thinking about buying it.

Thanks. :)

Howdy,

I'm having a problem with the axis tuning in DCS. All my planes want to roll (hard) to the right and I can't figure out what to do, and it's killing the fun. I am using a MS FFB2, but this doesn't happen in BOX where the stick works perfectly, only DCS.

Any help would be appreciated. :)

Yes, had the same problem, until I found out that there was another button mapped to that same command that I didn't know about.

After a careful check, there were several dual commands on other bits of my setup that needed correcting :)

I have 5 axis usb cards , when I install a new module they all are assigned on the same axis. You need to delete your rudder on pitch and aileron same with the throttle . There is also some modules that got two controlinterfaces check both. It is very complex

I'll jump into that and take a look. I did kill off some duplicate assignments, but I'll look again. (I'm using an MS FFB2 and a Thrustmaster TWCS throttle.)

I very much appreciate the help from you both. I just got 2.5 loaded and, thanks to ShamrockOneFive's site, fixed my graphics issues. If I can settle up the roll-to-the-right problem, I think I'm going to have some good flying going on.

I get my new PC tomorrow, I will , if time permitting install DCS 2,5 on it this weekend, and BOS on it.

I had the very same problem when applying elevator input (roll to the right) until I ticked the indicated box in the "FFB tune" screen, solved the issue instantly. Another problem that you may have is not being able to trim the Su27 and Su33 correctly in the pitch axis due to using a FFB stick. Turn the FFB off in the game options and trim works perfectly. (a known issue).

Well thanks, when I buy I buy for 10 years ahead, the i9 would not make a difference when it comes to Simulators except if you have a B 737 cockpit sim. The one I got is 10 years with only one change from 2 x 480 gtx in SLI to one 680 gtx

This way at some time ahead I can say it cheap by the hour used ;) . It is simply too much money for a PC, but what can one do

Yeah I was planning my new build later this year ( built this rig in Dec 2013), but getting very tempted to go ahead and do a new 8700K rig myself.

When I do I too will go all out and get the best I can at that time. This rig has been solid as a rock for me ever since I put it together, but getting now to where I really want a little more oomph.

Yeah baby! That's the stuff. Thanks.

I owe you a beer. :drinks:

Just bought the Nevada map. Another 40 minutes until it's finished downloading. Just in time to have to leave for a job. :(

Looking forward to them big ass concrete airfields. Just love landing the fast movers.

I really, really hope they make an F-104 someday. "Please!"

A shaders installation issue. You need to delete or rename the metashader and fox folders in Saved Games, then they'll show properly.

Do you mean FXO folder?  Also, I have no metashader folder in Saved Games for DCS.  I see a metashaders folder in my DCS.openalpha folder, but not my DCS folder in saved games.

What folders precisely need to be deleted or renamed in which folders?  And where did you come across this info?

If you have launched DCS and loaded up a mission, you should have metashaders folder in the DCS folder in saved games.

And yes, it is fxo files.

Bridge is only rated for motorcycles and Trabants.

I really really really hope that they make an Electric Lighting some day!!

Unfortunately for reason or another some systems related to the EE Lightning remain classified by the British MoD, almost 60 years after its introduction!

That generation of interceptors is really amazing. We already have the MiG-21 and a Mirage III is planned, all that's missing is the Starfighter and Lightning to complete the "manned missile" collection.

Mirage F.1 is in the works by AvioDev (makers of the forever incomplete C-101). I wouldn't hold my breath on it.

As a kid I can remember watching Lightnings taking off, then just going straight up like a rocket... hell of a noise and very impressive!

I think it will come to be, but at snail's pace. If memory serves right they have the smallest team (1-3 people), the externals are ready and the F.1 is very simple in terms of avionics. My bet is that we will get a SFM version at first in 2019 with AFM >1 year later.

To me, SFM aircraft might as well not exist. I don't play DCS to use it as a fancy 3d model viewer. Given the C-101 still has a SFM 3-4 years after release, I seriously doubt they will ever make a module that I'd consider acceptable.

Dont know why but I am pretty sure that Aviodev will deliver.

The 101 was / is a testbed more or less and I dont think that they plan to "release" another SFM before it goes EFM.

They better not be allowed to until the c101 is released. The whole problem with DCS 3rd parties is they are all pretty much part time modders being allowed to charge professional prices for a product that may or may not see a final release. EDs need to reign in their 3rd parties. Only allow them to sell a second module once they have completed their first one. I bought the C101, I gave up on it years ago.

Currently, the only offender is Aviodev and maybe VEAO (not sure what they did with the P-40 pre-order debacle). Aviodev is definitely on the modder side of things and VEAO is full of talk and little action. I think the other third parties do a good job though, really no major complaints.

The Nevada map is good fun. Glad I bought it.

Would like to see more $15 simplified versions of the planes. $80Cdn for one plane just ain't gonna happen.

...unless it's an F-104.

Tested 2,5 with the stock fast mission convoy attack for MI 8 in caucasus map today, man that was beautyful. Spent most of the day figuring out why one of the leo bodnar usb cards did not work on my new PC.

Man why do I not learn to check the obvious?

I had not connected it with the USB cable.

Anyway, now everything worksin ultra settings. I find everything a bit to bright, but I guess that would be adjusted somehow somewhere .

I am happy, now I have to do the control setup x 20

I found my sweet spot with gama set to 2.0 I think, instead of 2.2, and monitor digital vibrance at 60% (nVidia control panel > monitor menu). It definitely needs a lot of tweaking to get right though, at times like these i really appreciate that 1C:GS put together coherent presets that make the game look good and don't take hours to figure out.

I'm a bit of a DCS noob. Had it for ages just never really played it. Set up my P51 controls last night. still need to bind the map somewhere, not even figured out how to open it yet, and also to figure out how comms works with ATC etc. Also hoping to try one of the online servers for WWII combat.

Working my way through the P51 challenge campaign, which I'm actually really enjoying. That engine likes to overheat though when your airspeed is slow. I found I needed to keep it at around 200 MPH at least in a climb at high altitudes if I did not want to cook the engine, even then sometimes it was close.
