Normandy 1944 I don't see a reason to keep it once the new campaigns are modified to use the new map, and servers move to new map,, but The Channel map yes, since there are some campaigns that uses that map, and wont be modified since  in Normandy 2 map the Channel map area will be low resolution

Ah ok good to know thanks.

That looked almost real!...

These Mustang sounds though ? DCS sound design is in a class of it's own in the flight sim genre.

Yeah, map looks fantastic. Cant wait.

We need a two-engined German plane. The Allied side has the Mosquito. I would like to have an Arado Ar 234. Limited to bomb missions, but a good addition. Perhaps more suitable than the Me 262.

Yeah, if they ever consider doing WW2 Luftwaffe twins, an Ar 234 would be an odd first choice. Then again, this is DCS we are talking about, so who knows...

I guess a late 110 would make sense. That is why we not getting it.

A 110 makes zero sense in DCS.

Currently DCS WW2 is about late war daylight tactical ops in Western Europe.

The 110 only appears briefly in daylight ops as a Bomber Destroyer in late 43 till early 44 in defence of the Reich ops against the 8th Air Force heavies. Over Germany.

No daylight units based in France in 1944 used the 110 except for long range reconnaissance. It simply isn’t a tactically relevant or useful model.

Typhoon and G6-late would make more sense for the Normandy map, but again, this is DCS. So who knows, maybe they do a He-177 next...

Nah, CAC Boomerang. A sure bet.

I think it's funny people still complain about "consistent" modules in DCS ?Like where have yall been for the last 15+ years?  Eagle Dynamics has never stated nor ever tried to make DCS a sim with that fully fleshes out a single combat arena, WWII or otherwise and news flash, they don't have do. Their customer numbers speak for itself, they dwarf their closet competition. But enough pointless complaining.....

This Normandy map is looking GREAT!

Hopefully it drops next week with the update

Speaking of non-historical, I can’t wait to explore those cities at treetop level in a helicopter.  That map looks just great.

Excactly what I was thinking

Anyway, consistency has not been my trouble with this. The modules I do like got enough toys to play with , if you speak not of the weapon I use DCS as a Chopper msfs

Looking  great - here is to hoping it drops on April 12th!

Normandy map does indeed look to be a great improvement - too many trees of course, but that's just the curse of flight sim maps. Plus I do hope that there is a 'Smog' option in the settings; the London air has never been that clear!  ?

I think I gonna buy Mirage F1 , F4 Phantom

And relearn the Harrier as the only modern jet to fly.
With msfs acting up for umphteen time I need to find something acceptable to do.
kind of funny, I flown the Apache for a while an forced myself to maintain some professionalism in flying it , slowly begin  to tolerate it. Yet no such thing for the Hornet.

I do really really wish I could just like the Hornet. Intellectually it would make sense. But no go

I'm thinking full hairy chest F4 will do me, with the F14 on occasion for a change. The modern computer stuff like the Hornet can stay in the hanger.

Well having completed several Hornet campaigns, and now completee 3 Spitfire campaigns, I figured time for me to move on to another aircraft. I am still in the learning process of the Apache but it is going to take some more time with breaks in between like I have been doing. So I have now set up my controls for the Mossie and getting a grip on flying it. Purchased Reflected's  V for Victory Campaign and hope to be starting that soon. Then I really need to get back to my Apache learning and some Hornet flying to keep fresh with it.

The P-47 in DCS is an excellent module imo ?

Sorry for spreading the bug ?

Gazelle is fun , but for me changing seats for aiming is not.  So I just fly it

Right there, hate that feeling.

P 47 is more charismatic than P 51 witch is more adorable.  I really like them both in this sim.

I might start a campaign myself in one of those. Cannot really bring myself to like the Mossie. But I will give it more time

I am still way too early in the learning process to comment on the Mossie for me, staying with it though to see how it turns out. I went ahead and purchased a campaign for it to have so am optimistic. It is kind of neat flying with two prop driven engines though.

Well it’s not an F-35. Taking off is the only issue - after that fly around and/or kill stuff. What’s all the “way too early in the learning” stuff ?

I guess there’s the radio…

I have to know and understand where all the buttons/switches are that I will be needing. Some will get assigned to HOTAS and some I will use my Point CtRL on my fingers to manipulate. In short I need to have my arms wrapped fully around the cockpit before I will be comfortable enough to fly a campaign. Just the way I prefer to go about it. Granted it shouldn't take too long though, certainly no where near the length I spent learning the Hornet.

I think you'll do well...you seem to learn DCS modules with little trouble, just time/dedication.

I also think you'll appreciate the more visceral nature of the WWII aircraft as you explore them further vs say the Hornet. :)

Love me some Mossie! I am currently all in both the Mossie and the Spitty. I have all of my Hostas set for both finally. I have to just fly around in warbirds for a while until it just feels natural and my reflexes are automatic. Love bombing in the Mossie, but those damn rockets are going to take some work to get deadly with. All good fun though. Can't wait for Normandy II!

By the way, I drove around like a complete clown the first few times I tried to take off in the Mossie. Probably took me 25 minutes. If you were standing on that field observing, you quite literally wouldn’t have been safe anywhere on that parcel of land…except perhaps in the middle of the runway. ?

Not sure if it’s easier now - been a while.

We flew some coops with the Mossie, It took a while before all had taken off. But it was not too bad.. I just do not like the twitchy feel it gives me

It was a little tricky but not too bad.
