You not seen me manoeuvre a boat ?

I was in the Gulf several times in early 80’s in a tanker loaded with NAFTA.
I am pretty sure I know the feeling of being in the wrong end

I spent 5 years protecting those tankers and bulk carriers from pirates... great times!

I miss watching 6 to 8 heavily armed floppies approach the ship doing 25-30 knots in their little wooden or fibre glass boats.

I hope you weren't responsible for loading it. ?

You sure you weren't supposed to be loading naphtha? ?

I could tell you stories about being in Aden port on a British flagged ship unloading naptha, when we got an urgent message that all British and American assets or people working in Yemen, were likely to be attacked and we should leave asp.

We were stuck there for 3 more days... nervous itchy trigger fingers ensued...

March 79, we got extended on CV-64, had to go show the flag because N/S Yemen were in a civil war. Saudi's were getting nervious it would spill over their borders, and the Soviet Navy was there in numbers. That cruise lasted eight months.. Last cruise on the Enterprise 88/89 we did the ditch from Aden/Red Sea to the Med. Libya had been bombed and two of the Carriers had to go home (there were three). Suez Canal is not a good place to be on a fully loaded Aircraft Carrier.... LOL  Namptha would of been like a childs sparkler....

Cheers

I resisted the Bill Clinton joke.

This was in the 80’s Irecall vagely whatever it was I recall my impression was it suppose to be a ingrediance for a special fuel. Not the most dangerous cargo we transported, but in that environment it was, we passed burned out tankers still smoking. First air strikes was greatest danger, but I think it evolved to rockets or missile threats later on. I saw a program about sailors with psychological problems for going there. They did not experience attacks but was pretty ruined by it.
My wife asked me why I never told her I was there. And I replied I don’t know, all I remember is I got 200% pay. Same when we was in Argentina during Falkland war. No real danger to us, but still more payed. I must be too stupid for pstd or what it’s called

I sailed under Norwegian flag, on chemical tankers. And one Panamaregistered

Norwegian oil tankers was attacked, but I do not think Norway was targeted, I guess US and UK was a better trophy

Carrying a fuselage bomb and rockets? That's an entirely nonsense loadout.

No one said it was perfect. Shooting down a squadron of bombers is pretty darn proof of that

I know it looks like 2 Tomcats, and technically it is...but this is an F-4 mission build.

Low-level airfield denial practice sortie out of Nellis. AI is the Lead, player will fly number 2.

Testing a different low-level VR/runway strike.

…a 70,000 lb airplane mushing into a tight turn, and then pulling nose up and powering out…I better learn the planes I’ve been meaning to learn soon, so I don’t feel bad ditching them for the Strike Eagle.

I already feel dirty and wrong for dropping the money on it a handful of hours from now...but it's going to happen.

Might?! It surpasses even the Tomcat in the best plane in DCS stakes. And, yes, I know it's not even in the game yet :)

Yeah, it seems quite a few people were able to get it for $24 before ED shut it down.  I'm in Steam land for DCS so I'm more irritated by the last minute, "no pre-order at all for Steam" notice today... but it is what it is... I'll pick it up in a few months...

Thank you for entirely missing the point, which was that DCS has allowed a ridiculous loadout like this into the game.

LOL yes they should take BoX way of doing it, with mc202 with 20mm gunpods, 234 with 20mm gunpods and so on...

If I ever feel the urge, I can set up a dogfight between Sopwith Camels and Me 262s on IL-2 GB. It is in the nature of sandbox-style simulations that they tend to permit unrealistic things, and developers generally have higher priorities than to run around creating code to prohibit every such possibility.

Well at least in BoX we don't have wake turbulence modeled...so makes flying around in formation with that stuff easier.

Luke’s soul is just very resistant to becoming a member of the DCS Collective.  But resistance is futile.

They have also enacted a feature that lets mission builders limit loadouts, single player, online etc, in the ME pretty recently.

While I do agree with you about the sentiment of historically inaccurate loadouts, since it can be completely negated, i could probably find a different hill to die on....
