(Edit). It doesn’t seem like something that your Lusekofte type guy, who can’t even fire a Mav from a Hornet would take to the A-10C as an exciting new purchase. ?So therefore, I discouraged him from that. Having the Warthog HOTAS helped immensely. It was daunting at first, but I stayed with it. 15 hours ago, Gambit21 said: It's relative I guess. I can learn anything given enough time and repetition. Only so much playtime available though. Agreed that it’s all relative. I flew it exclusively for a couple months, with a lot of reps.

I just taxied to the back of the ship, held the brakes, applied full afterburner, and used the full length of the deck. That was with 30 kt headwind, and very little fuel though (I should probably have checked first...). It might be more tricky loaded up.
DD_fruitbat Posted January 25, 2023 Posted January 25, 2023 Yeah, I was kinda thinking loaded! I wonder what wind speed across the deck you'd need to get a fully loaded up Viper off the carrier?

DD_fruitbat Posted January 25, 2023 Posted January 25, 2023 To many other things to do... flying the F1-EE is the current flavour of the month ?

Re JF-17, i don't know what it is about it, but i can't think of another jet that seems as bland to me, it just doesn't sing to me at all. I agree that there is something bland about the Thunder, but hard to qualify. Maybe it’s that it isn’t well known or common. Maybe it’s that it looks like they went to a scrapyard and combined old pieces of a Hornet, a Falcon, and a Fishbed. (Maybe they did, lol) That said, I think it’s an excellent little plane with modern multi role capabilities, and the learning curve is fairly easy compared to others with similar capabilities. It’s a very well done module. The guys I was flying it with at the time shortly after it’s release agreed that it was probably what the F-20 Tigershark could have evolved into. It might have been a bit more capable at first than it is in real life, and they might have nerfed it since, but when I was flying it, it could definitely hold its own against other 4th Gen jets in BVR, and packed a decent punch in everything from SEAD to anti-ship. It is definitely vulnerable in a close dogfight because it lacks the power and the helmet mounted acquisition capabilities. Engine smokes as bad as an F-4. The “Bitching Betty” sounds like it was voiced by a little girl, lol.
Gambit21 Posted January 26, 2023 Posted January 26, 2023 To me it’s like a fake aircraft that some 3D artist made up while using a Viper and Hornet as inspiration. Totally fictional, totally without any history or interest. I know it’s real - but it still feels this way to me. It’s one aircraft I know I’ll never buy in a weak moment. 2

DBFlyguy Posted January 26, 2023 Posted January 26, 2023 I personally don't have anything against the "Jeff"... It just doesn't peak my interest. Why would I take a "Jeff" when I can take a Viper or Hornet? It does nothing better than either of those two options. Now for the developer, Deka Ironworks, they seem to do great work! We have them to thank for all of the Chinese AI assets currently in the sim, I hope they continue to produce those and maybe someday a playable module that will peak my interest, it's just not the "Jeff"
DD_fruitbat Posted January 27, 2023 Posted January 27, 2023 It's a poor mans Viper.... I already have the Viper ?

Lusekofte Posted January 27, 2023 Posted January 27, 2023 Chinese Building everything electronic from west. And copy everything. so no. I won’t buy it. I should not bought Viper or hornet either.
Robli Posted January 27, 2023 Posted January 27, 2023 M-2000C is very fun to fly, but I just feel that once I had learned it, it would end up gathering dust in my hangar, as I would take Hornet to combat instead anyway. My next jet will probably be a 3rd gen plane and I will wait a bit to see, if it is going to be F-4 Phantom or Mirage F1. Meanwhile I could get deeper into the Hornet experience. I wonder if getting the Supercarrier module would bring that much more fun to the naval experience, compared to Stennis.
SidtheGit Posted January 27, 2023 Posted January 27, 2023 (edited) I enjoy the M-2000C too but haven't sorted weapons yet. I had a session with fellow Dogz last night and ended up flying the M2000, the Bronco and the Viggen. I had an absolute blast, all were fun to start, take off, fly, hit things, fly back and land again. Where did that 4 hours go..... Fenrir took this screenie whilst I was on my last run of the evening/night. Very much looking forward to the Skyraider and the Phantom Edited January 27, 2023 by SidtheGit 1
Cloyd Posted January 27, 2023 Posted January 27, 2023 Any opinions on the Christen Eagle II? I mostly just fly around sightseeing, regardless of how many rockets, guns, and bombs I could have. Figured this might better suit my style of fun. (While I wait for the F4U?)

Harrier can carry a lot of ordinance as long as it do not have to carry fuel tanks
