I like the Mosquito much more than the the P-47.

And the next time you disagree with me I'll report you and have you banned.

Don't make me be the bad guy!

Mosquito is ?, P 47 is the Chinese porselen you sit in delivering it

I would not do that. If you like P 47 in GB, DCS version will ruin it. It is by far the best ww2 module in DCS. It actually can fly below 22 k got one of the best looking pits in DCS is you leave out F 14 , they are too close

it fly like I imagine it would, described by its pilots. Just adorable

Here's the DCS P47 doing its thang.

Nice but I'll be truly happy the day we will get (either in DCS, GB or in another future sim) an SB2C Helldiver and/or a D4Y Suisei ?

I will never understand why this plane is not already in IL2. There are a ton of ready-to-go customers who would eagerly line up to pre-pay.

Anyway, if DCS makes it I'll buy it.

They've made their decision, it is what it is ? Let's just be glad other dev teams have happily taken up the slack.  I can't wait for the DCS Corsair to drop!

I only have so much flightsim money. If anyone wants it - just build me a plane I actually want to buy.

I hear ya!

This steam sale I haven't bought any flight sim related stuff. I did finally pick up Ready or Not (SWAT themed shooter) and Gunner, Heat PC (cold war era tank sim).  The DCS Hind keeps giving me "buy me" eyes...but I'm not returning them... yet ?

It is.

I love the DCS P-51. I find it much more refined than the IL2 model.

I have to date kept my WWII activities for IL-2, DCS for jets and choppers. Starting to get a little tempted to maybe check out the Spit in DCS.

Haven't bought it yet, going to try it on the free trials one more time first. But I love the DCS P-51 and DCS Mosquito

And I really like the DCS free trials. Best and most generous offer any flightsim has ever offered. No other flightsim comes close.

Really looking forward to the new Normandy 2 map. Looks to be far and away the best WWII map of any sim.

Just checked my timing for the free trials. Another month before I can try out the Spitfire for free for two-weeks. Pretty freaking awesome that DCS lets you try all their planes and maps for free. I have a Steam main install - no free trials on that install - but I can grab the Spitfire and Channel map and use them at the same time on my DCS main site "trials install".

And you cannot beat the DCS Channel map. The ground textures are great.

The Channel map is also great for helicopters. Flying low and slow lets you appreciate and enjoy the detailed terrain.

Most of my Hornet flying is in the Persian Gulf of late. Apache still using Syria in my learning process.

If I got a lot of time in my hands on day, I wonder what module I will learn first. F-16, F-18 , A-10 or AH-64

It take me one evening to learn basics on KA 50 and Hind some weeks to learn it all and let it sit.
F 16 and all above allied modules I learned to start and fly. Only allied planes I can or rather could do was F-5 , SAAB and Harrier those I could handle all things except AAR only Harrier I connected once.
I believe the Harrier might be revisited, we got them every year up here on NATO exercises many years ago so I can relate to it. F 16 Norwegian airforce operated until F-35 came along. I should have some relationship to it.

The Channel map is certainly the best WWII map in any sim, that's for sure.

I'm really enjoying the South Atlantic map, and I'm really looking forward to the Kola map. Will be interesting to see what ORBX can do with DCS.

Maybe save your brain cells for the F-15E. That one is looking very very good.

That plane do not appeal to me, same way as F 16. They are mean killers best in what they do. It will expose my incredible incompetence and thereby render me to quit flightsim all together.
No I fly rubbish, that way I can always blame the plane and not myself

Blame the plane... I like your way of thinking.

I'm really looking forward to the F-15E. Those MFDs look really cool. I like the high-tech toys. Not interested in A2A really, so that saves me all the time of learning the radar, but I'm definitely going to figure out the A2G stull with those fancy displays.

Here are some 0s and 1s that will be worth the pennies.

I still think this thing might set a new price level. Maybe see it at $20 more than the Viper and Hornet.

Does the Strike Eagle -require- a crew member in the back seat or is it more like a dual-seat Hornet, where it’s optional?

Razbam is being a little snooty about that. They say the Jester/George/Petrovich system is too "arcady" and want to make something better. But that won't be out until after the module is released. In the meantime, they say you can manage the whole plane from the front seat. Not sure if you can do everything from the back seat.

Thanks.  It matters to me because I found certain things problematic to learn in the back seat of the Tomcat (because I couldn’t fly it from there), but just letting the AI do its stuff obviously didn’t teach me much.   From a video game standpoint, single seat aircraft are somewhat preferable to me, despite the cool-factor of online, human multi crew stuff.

You can't turn on the counter measures from the front seat, and i think unstow the pod, but thats about it.

I don't fly the Tomcat much, not my plane really. But I do like the voice interaction. The F-15 is definitely my plane though, so I hope there will be some back and forth with the AI.

Wait until someone incorporates that new ChatGPT thing with the backseat AI. That could be petty funny.

I guess what I should have said is, I never could be an online-effective Tomcat pilot, because I didn’t know the essential capabilities of the back seat to take it to that level.  I was in an F-14 squadron in DCS, but when we went online multiplayer, we flew the JF-17!

So as cool as it is, I guess I think a single-seater is the best chance I have with actually learning to “master”(lol) a DCS aircraft, as opposed to just being a plane on the hard drive.

If it was a Korean War era Corsair I would have bought it on release but given it is a pure PTO  version I will wait to see at least a flyable Zero or Hellcat to go along with it

About Raz's Boring Eagle: the earlier they get that lump of metal and MFDs out, the earlier they can get back to work on the MiG-23MLA :P
