Lusekofte Posted June 6, 2022 Posted June 6, 2022 Once again I just have to admit I have a limit in my devotion to flightsims. Those high tech US systems is out of my reach. Harrier I can sort of accept with doubt. Apache getting shelved. Hind I really start to really like, KA 50 is a likable module with its easy navigation being sort of digital and the rest analog , but got great capabilities. Hind is a excellent VR chopper demand discipline and sometimes very aggressive tactics. My kind of flying. The Mosquito, well I like to operate it, but I struggle to make it a stable weapon platform. It is very responsive, still compared to GB I would like it to be closer to it. GB Mosquito lack som personality. I like it, but cannot find any of its known down sides. I have no problem with its torque , it is really stable and easy to fly, very forgiving in both flying and engine management.
Lusekofte Posted June 7, 2022 Posted June 7, 2022 I finally discovered why I am so bad at DCS warfare, I am, a twat . And it makes me a double twat, being so late in that discovery 4

Bremspropeller Posted June 8, 2022 Posted June 8, 2022 Ha, I'll just go watch "The Movie" tonight and when I'm back, (and provided I'm not dead-asleep thanks to the jetlag), I'll check out the map.

Ha, I’ll go home at lunch and start the download. Then I’ll come home, do whatever, go to bed, get up, work another day, go to bed again…and sometime that 2nd day I might be able to check out the map. 3
Bremspropeller Posted June 8, 2022 Posted June 8, 2022 I think we need to crowdfund a better landline for Jim. ? 1 1
dburne Posted June 8, 2022 Posted June 8, 2022 No Missions or Instant Action listings for the Hornet on South Atlantic Map yet. Bummer.

dburne Posted June 8, 2022 Posted June 8, 2022 Looking pretty sweet. VR performance in my Aero is reasonable as well. 1

Gambit21 Posted June 9, 2022 Posted June 9, 2022 After 4 hours...painful. I can't even tell you how much I hate this...and during the one time in maybe a year that my wife is out of the house for an overnight. 2
ST_Catchov Posted June 9, 2022 Posted June 9, 2022 I looked up Puget Sound and was surprised to discover it's in the USA. I thought it was Australia judging by the evidence provided ....

Now I expected you already was on a Falkland campaign, I am on my way to brush dust off my Harrier. I already installed the A4 Skyhawk. And here I am waiting on a rubbish Internet on the other side of the globe. Is it anything we can do to help? Support a better Internet? You already done a lot, more to come, we all gain if we can boost that damn line of yours from great war era up to at least 2019 standard Edited June 9, 2022 by LuseKofte

Work can begin in earnest as soon as I have the map...but don't expect anything any time soon. Lots of variables in play, and things need to stabilize with the DCS AI/editor logic.

Gambit21 Posted June 10, 2022 Posted June 10, 2022 It begins. Ironic that I'm the first to post a screenie. Recce sortie out of Punta Arenas. 6
dburne Posted June 10, 2022 Posted June 10, 2022 VR screenshots look like crap which is why I never post them.
Gambit21 Posted June 10, 2022 Posted June 10, 2022 Tough to not post screenies every 5 minutes, but there's work to be done. 2
AndyJWest Posted June 10, 2022 Posted June 10, 2022 Slartibartfast was here. ? Water found on Mars? Actually somewhere on the Argentinian side of the Andes. Not sure what the craters are. Sinkholes maybe? Pies? I don't think I could eat that many? 1 1
Bremspropeller Posted June 10, 2022 Posted June 10, 2022 The Ferris scheme works amazingly well with the Falklands background. On the way to the Harrier Strip - is that a grass runway down there? 1

dburne Posted June 15, 2022 Posted June 15, 2022 Well I finally broke down and ordered a Virpil Collective with an Alpha L Grip to use with the Apache. It shipped out yesterday, going to be interesting to see how well I can acclimate to using a Collective with the Apache. I have enough hours in it now to know I will likely be sticking with it. Been going back and forth between Apache and Hornet to insure I stay fresh in the latter as well. I had already ordered and received a Monster Tech Mount for the collective to attach to my AK Racing gaming chair. I will still be using my Virpil CM3 Throttle for the dual throttles in the Apache plus the extra buttons. I did not get the Virpil Collective with the twist grip for throttle use, just the standard collective. 1 1

But they said it was on undefined supply problems. I did however discover using virpil throttle flap level as collective gave a good control. I have two collectives ons virpil and one maxflightstick , both with twist throttle. It's gain is not worth the money. On virpil it make the whole thing more heavy, and make you tightening the friction a lot more. I will probably install the hydronic dampers on it from the maxflight stick. Giving it the right feel. For me the Apache is just not the heli I want to spend my time in. I like the Hind better, it give me a sense of real chopper challenge I need to keep interest. Ah 64 is probably realistic, not arguing. But it's automation just give me a feel of another push button weapon platform. Fun for some time but, too much time getting there Edited June 16, 2022 by LuseKofte
