Check out the screen shot of one of the F4U's cockpit lights. Rudel posted this over there.

Look at that mesh-density and texture detail. Going to be an amazing cockpit.

Flew it during a free trial, it's a proper P-47D...definitely recommend!

It is a delightful ac. I have no idea if it is correct modelled. But it's pilots loved it. And I love DCS Jug. I hate GB jug. Go figure

I think it's closer to the real Jug. It makes more sense that a fighter aircraft although being heavy still very capable of fighting 109s and 190s at any altitude.

You sure should. It could open an eye or two...And while you are at it, DCS has 50% sale, order Reflecteds P-47 "Wolfpack" campaign. Pretty decent stuff.

Like the Jug. I was soo disappointed when GB version came, so I almost skipped the DCS version.

If all other fails. You still got the Jug. One never know how the Corsair will be, my hope is high

I like the DCS P-47D. The model looks great and cockpit is sweet. The FM makes it feel heavy, but can haul if needed. Armed to the teeth  Will get Corsair too when available.

Jug, Normandy and Wolf Pack campaign purchased.

I was trying to avoid Normandy since the Channel is so much nicer, but need it for the campaign. 'shrug'

I'm getting familiar with the Jug now too, the open beta controls section is a bit sketchy with it's nomenclature for the controls naming. But I'm getting there.  I usually like to get the controls set up before I start flying it.  The first few take offs were fun, nothing like this sim in that regard.

The strange control names are a bug, should be corrected with the next open beta update.

Yes, I knew that, thanks, and am patiently waiting for them to fix it.  I'm sure some of the commands are not working very well either. I just use the search function, I try to map controls to the same button as I do in IL2, but sometimes there are more to do. I start the game and pause it to Alt/Tab out to either of my GUI's and fix things on the fly so's to speak..... Then I'll do a practice mission to fully test it.  The Mosquito is next on the list.  Mustang was a piece of cake.

If DCS gets a Hellcat next year.... AND the Corsair finally drops... my word!

 

We'd quickly go from absolutely no current WWII Pacific options to sitting very nicely, the only thing we'd be missing is a much needed update to the assets pack to give a few Japanese AI units to blast.  If the tease isn't the Hellcat, It may also be the F-4 Phantom, MiG-29A or some variant of the Tornado, all of those options would sale like hotcakes.

With DCS business model meaningful PTO is quite possible, at least in SP!

Beside Zero all other IJN planes can be AI when it comes to full fidelity clickpits, later maybe they can throw in playable non-clickpit/simplified Val and Kate.

USN planes are all possible; Wildcat, Dauntless, Devastator, Avenger, Hellcat.....etc.

All those would be insta buy for me!

You know what I find particularly charming about DCS?

It's really awesome. It's how ED changes the names and locations of the keybinds constantly, and also goes out of their way to make these binds as inconsistent as possible between modules. Thereby negating any possible benefit of having already gone through the binding process with one or more of their modules.

 

Particularly charming is this...which does absolutely F*&KALL for my ability to properly bind the Jug starter. Would be one thing is the actual bind I was looking for was present.

What really burns me up is that ED has to now know that the key bindings are F*#&+ed up and they won't make a quit hotfix to simply address this screw up which was created by them in the first place. These bozos could F#&$ up a wet dream. DMFs.

That definitely looks like an F-4 gunsight at the end ? Also loving all those cockpit shots of the Razbam F-15E...we may actually see it released this decade ?
