The burble is an absolute game changer.

And when I say game changer, I mean a vicious, sadistic and downright terrifying skewing of all you thought you knew and had become - if not comfortable - at least prepared for, when it comes to carrier landing the F-14.

Sweaty palms back in business! Yikes.

My on-speed flying was so all over the place yesterday, I didn't even feel that much a difference.

Dang, I need to get out of those electrophile airplanes...

I was a mess during my one trap attempt so far...but after 4 bolters I did it. I guarantee you I wouldn’t notice a thing different right now. ?

Of course I can’t test yet - only 11 gigs to go after 24 hours! Woooot!

Haha, do your bytes arrive by homing-pidgeon, or do you use a smoke-signal modem?

I believe each byte is hand-crafted deep in the jungles of Papua New Guinea. Then a monitor lizard is contracted to get them here somehow.

Bought a house buildt in 1946 renovated later years on a remote island 2 hours drive and 1 hour ferryboat from my home. It got fiber and is fast. All this about 700km North of Arctic circle.

I always believed I was the one in outback country

Awesome video thanks for posting.

I am getting there with the Hornet.

Only dilemma now is what do I want to try and tackle next, the Viper or the Tomcat.

I already own both of them.

So much to do so little time.

I so love carrier ops with the Hornet.

The Tomcat will mean you can fly the Zone 5 campaign - and it’s the Tomcat.

Viper is amazing...sooooo much fun, and no Jester to contend with. Also you can help me out soon with both your Hornetness and Viperness.

Did I make the decision easier?

?

And... new sale!

DCS is in a class of their own in the combat flight sim department.  I don't even want anything but now have a sudden urge to buy something from them ?

Wow lucky, I very nearly bought Syria yesterday for full price, saved a chunk of cash today. Didn't expect that one to be on sale really. Looking forward to taking the Hind up over it.

Hmmm...

Already have the Hornet, Viper and Tomcat, and Syria. No time for anything else really - too much editor work staring me in the face.

Huey is tempting since I may work with it eventually...

My next fo sho purchases are:

F-4U Corsair

A-6

F-15E

Next few years are basically tied up for me with Viper/Hornet stuff.

DCS really needs the Cobra - hard to imagine a better bang-for-the-buck helo.

Late to the party, just found out about Hind release.  I suspect it’s going to be one of those weekends when not a damn thing gets done here around the house.

I think I'm going to pickup the Spit IX on sale which will be my first DCS purchase. How's the vr performance? Have they finally optimized it?

Mine’s good (at best) at a quite high detail level but it varies a little by map. Rift s using 2070 card. I7 9700 at 4.9ghz (ish)

Guys stop making me want the Hind.

Contemplating the Persian Gulf map, but can’t justify it unless I’m flying the Raven campaign - which I will at some point no doubt. Hard to look at other terrain after the Med.

For those of you who are masochists learning the Hind, these vids might be useful,

If you have any interest in Helicopters, I really recommend his channel, its actually really got me into Helicopters. Some great interviews and DCS stuff on there. He flew them for 20 years in the US Army, so has a fair idea of what he's talking about! Kiowa's and then Apaches.

Persian Gulf isn't no Syria, but its defiantly worth it if in a sale....

Slowly getting to the point where I can repeatedly put the Hind into a piece of real-eastate that I intended putting it into.

...and not succumbing to VRS while trying to...

Looks like fun.

I spent 3 hours yesterday getting AI to attack how I wanted them to.

That's the Cruiser Moskwa.

Screen_210617_160526.thumb.png.86ba077d8fd38cec7c5bb334c55b6481.png

I did a little ATGM testing/training last evening. Once I figured the AI out it worked just fine. APC's and older tanks go poof with one shot, but I had to hit an M1A four times to destroy it. Sometimes it starts burning after two hits.  I guess it depends where, and from what angle you hit it.

The good thing is that,  if you start from long range and stay on target, you get the ready tone again and you can shoot twice in one run.

I love how easy JDAM's are in the F-16 compared to the Hornet (like just about everything is...)

Well, according to George Carlin, there's no such thing as a "civil" war.

I guess all bets are off then...

I know that. I've been inside Anniston Army depot a few times and I couldn't believe how thick that front armor was.  :o:

The front of the turret armor is twice as thick as it is tall. :o: Damn fine tank.:salute:

Very nice!

I’ve never been up close to one.

I’ve have however seen a TR-B3 fairly up close and personal - doing it’s anti-gravity thing.

That’s a story for another time and place though. Wonder when we’ll see it in DCS... ?

Taking out enemy air defences with a Viper, Brem's you'll probably recognise the map!!!

6 SAM sites destroyed, using HARM's in both modes and then JDAM's, as lots of cloud!!!!

Way to go Doug Masters.

I love Dan Hampton’s take on the real-life HARM - “waste of a wing station”

This due to the fact that under real-world combat conditions it’s relatively ineffective.

Just finished “Viper Pilot” good stuff.

I listened to that episode last week!

His book is on my to buy list.

Yep, it does sound like HARM's overperform in DCS from that interview. I should add though, there by no means perfect, often you can hit close by and the SAM will still be online.
