There's a modification that you can select that gives you the enhanced emergency power for the a5, along with bomb racks and extra armour. I can't remember what it's called but you should be able to work it out.

see the plane specs: u17 strike mod

- U17 strike modification includes C3 additional fuel injection system. When engaged, it increases pressure to 1.65 ATA (10 minutes time limit). This system can be turned on by engine boost command only at 100% throttle, with automatic propeller pitch control enabled and at altitudes lower than 1 km.

thanks link STIGLITZ

Airplane has a wide automatization of the engine systems, in fact, to control speed it is only necessary to use the throttle lever. There is no need to manually set engine revolutions and mixture or supercharger gear in normal flight. The engine supercharger has an automatic switch system which depends on altitude and engine revolutions.

this does not work , nothing happens below 1000mt , full throttle and boost button does not react , there is no increase in ATA . Can someone who has knowledge on this subject pls comment .thanks

Do you actually have the U17 modification enabled?

You need the U 17 fighter bomber modification. It should be the last one in the modification list. If you want to fly it in the BOK career, you should know that it is locked at the beginning of the career, as the U 17 modification was implemented a bit later.

Something good to use as you are approaching your ground target.  I am not sure on timer limits if you have it on and just ride the throttle in and out of boost.  I have been using it effectively on the A8 this way, that and the 30mm's which makes me feel sorry for the B25's I go up against.

Anyway, enjoy - although it is fun to take the A5 up against VVS in a pure fighter role.

No need for the 30mm guns. With 4x MG151/20 and 2x MG131 you have plenty of armament for a B25. However, I have to give in, it just makes fun to pulverize a B25 with a few 30mm hits.

i have been flying the A8 on ground and sea targets online combat box missions for weecks  and i wanted to do the same with the A5 to compare . My issue with the A8 is if the enemy spots me or tracks me on the way back to base flying at ground level i am dead , there is no way to defend myself , too slow . If i go for height flying back i am exposing myself openly and the climb rate is too slow booster or not . Any US or RAF fighter can reach me in no time .

Fighters - especially Brit ones are a bit of a handful.  I time my bomber runs so that the covering flight get drawn into fights with my flight and I slip in at full speed onto the asses of the bombers using side slipping to avoid being hit by the B25's gunners.  Hit the outer bomber and fly high into the clouds, check my tail then seek out my next B25 victim.  Dive down full power rinse / repeat.

I have yet to bother dog fighting in the A8 and need to develop my tactics for that.  Would love to take mid wing cannons away for fighter sweeps but, c'est la vie - the A8 was setup for bomber pulverising.

After taking out a few bombers and stopping the raid - I head for the clouds and check to see I am clear before heading home (which includes regular checks behind to make sure no enemy fighters tail me for revenge attacks.  I also fly in and around the clouds to ensure I am covered.  For some reason, flying with labels disabled seems to also reduce AI ability to track (I wonder if labels on gives the opposition similar visibility as you get...).  I could though be imagining it.?

Your definutely inagining it. AI doesnt have eyes or 'see' like a human sitting looking at a computer :)

Well, maybe AI hunting you through clouds has been toned down with recent updates.  A couple versions ago it was quite - hmm how to say - determined like a Terminator.

AI will never get anywhere close to humans out there to defend their area . I go shot up 3 times today raiding an airfield target in A8 and A5  , tried escaping at ground level and gaining height tactic but they were there waiting . Once you understand online tactics and missions you will never go back to playing static missions .
