Gun Cam

What do the Devs think to having a dedicated gun cam feature that enables when the trigger is pressed?

IMHO - This is not practical,  you end with several 1/2 seconds clips. See, with a gamey real time replay:

The cam footage looked fine to me and is what I expected.  I do agree it looks gamey during play but I wasn't thinking about it being implimented that way.

I don't have a source to back this up, but I was under the impression that most gun cameras run for several seconds after the trigger is no longer depressed.

I would like this. Runs from a fixed POV on the wing or other historically mounted position. Run's for a time after trigger press as well as with an individual keybinding.

This page has some good info on the gun camera used by U.S. forces in WWII.

I have tested with timed scripts for the record function, and don't find a good compromisse.

E.g. You set a 5 seconds timer for "gun cam" duration, but sometimes before this timer end you have another shoot opportunity and the previous timer run out just when you will shoot, and delay for start again make miss "that moment".

This good sequences you see in Youtube videos is not trigger activated gum cam, but manual activated "combat camera":

Compare with P-51, P-47 gun cam (trigger activated), that is just short snapshot.
