Personal weapon/ flare gun in VR

I re-installed BoX a couple of weeks ago, following a corrupted drive, prior to this the hand holding the PW/FG was out of scale (V small) and hardly visable, sitting somewhere between the lenses.  I didn't much bother with it.  After the re-install the arm, at least, is now the correct scale and visible (although it appears to suffer from acute alcohol withdraw symptoms), the flare gun or personal weapon however is absent, is this as it is or am I missing something ?
