MasserME262 Posted January 16, 2020 Posted January 16, 2020 Fieseler Storch. Sad it receives 0 love, anyone didn't even mention it. We will probably never see it in-game 1 1

Fern Posted January 16, 2020 Posted January 16, 2020 Fictional: Tailspin Real: Stearman. Some training planes would be cool.
danielprates Posted January 16, 2020 Posted January 16, 2020 FW200, Short Sunderland or the Martin Mars. Would require the 3000km wide maps and some convoys to trail/attack, though. 1

Gambit21 Posted January 16, 2020 Posted January 16, 2020 I love the Zero, but would have to settle on a flying boat of some kind...probably an old Grumman. 1 1
sevenless Posted January 17, 2020 Posted January 17, 2020 Fw-190 D13 and Ta-152 H1 would be very cool. 3
Legioneod Posted January 17, 2020 Posted January 17, 2020 Tough decision but I'd love to see some pre war aircraft added one day for some what if scenarios. It'd be interesting to fly and fight in these aircraft. So far me it'd be the P-12 If it's ww2 only then I'd choose a P-47M for a fighter or a B-24 as a bomber (the true workhorse of the bombing campaign) 2

BornToBattle Posted January 17, 2020 Posted January 17, 2020 (edited) Hmm... I’d wave the magic wand over the group of devs and have the B-24 appear, specifically the D model as I prefer the nose lines to it compared to the chin turret but hell, I’d settle for the J just as well. If that didn’t work even with the magic wand I’d rattle it over them again and have them create the Do-335. It’s a massive machine for what it is, besides being cool looking like the J7W Shinden. Tyberan Posted January 17, 2020 Posted January 17, 2020 (edited) I want the CA-13 boomerang if we ever get to the Pacific. Would be good for arty spotting, ground straffing etc. A nimble little thing but not fast Edited January 17, 2020 by Tyberan 2

Gonna read more about it as I’m unfamiliar with it.
Tyberan Posted January 17, 2020 Posted January 17, 2020 (edited) Designed and built in 3 months as an emergency fighter. Australia only had license for the engine on the dc3 ( can't remember exact name) so it was built around that. It was only used front line as an army support CAS aircraft, arty spotting and target spotting. but I've always had a soft spot for it as it's unique and one of the handful of Aussie designed aircraft. RedeyeStorm Posted January 17, 2020 Posted January 17, 2020 Fokker G-1 Cruiser, Fokker D-5, Fokker D-21
357th_KW Posted January 17, 2020 Posted January 17, 2020 B-17. B-24. Some A-20 variants (late war G, RAF Boston for 1941/42 action). A-26. Lancaster. Merlin 61/63 Spit IXc. Early P-38J, maybe throw in an H for good measure. Storch/Grasshopper/Lysander. Add photo recon mods for the P-51/P-38/Spit/109 as well as some game mechanics for it. Those would really add some nice variety for Bodenplatte/Normandy.

Soilworker Posted January 17, 2020 Posted January 17, 2020 Me 163 - such a fascinating aircraft, I'd love to take it for a spin in VR. Of course we'd ideally need some B-17s and B-24s to go with it. The He 162 would also be interesting. And pushing the realms of fantasy: the Ho 229.

Yes, one could come to that conclusion?. Missions of the "Battle" Squadrons in the Battle of France were real suicide missions. Just to commemorate these brave men in their flying coffins (and all other aircrews in WWII) a real simulation in a flight game would be very welcome. (Under the title: "Whoever survives the next mission wins")
Bumfluff Posted January 17, 2020 Posted January 17, 2020 A B-17 would change everything. Imagine throwing that puppy into the combat box server. Fights at altitude etc. 1

It's weird how the battle is remembered (quite rightly) as an utter disaster, yet the stuka seems to have been an effective plane, yet their performance and defensive armament are very similar. In fact the stuka performed just as badly as the battle in the battle of Britain, just goes to show how success is so dependent on the theatre, and how meaningless saying x plane is better than y plane sometimes is. 1

"The Fairy Battle, a waste of a Perfectly good Rolls Royce Merlin" I'd love to see a Great Battles in the Battle of France, perhaps It's because I've read Piece of Cake a few too many times, but I'd quite like to try surviving France in a career, especially in an early Hurri I or a Battle. 1
