New to TC, how does it work? need to switch positions?

To drive the tank, fire and look for targets, how does it work?

I drive then switch position? to gunner? then the tank will stop?

Then to commander? then cannot fire or drive?

 

Can I do all from commander and gunner view?

 

Or do I have to give commands?

Yes, you can drive from commander or gunner staion, using the keys for forward, stop (or backward), left, right. There is a section for tanks in the settings, where you can look and if you want, change the keys for the commands. The usual way is driving in commander's position, looking for targets, once you found a target, changing to gunner's position (don't forget where the target was) and shoot at the target. After destroying the target, either first look around in gunner's position or immediately change back to commander. The comander has a better FOV, but we still don't have binoculars for the commander, so the magnification of the gunsight gets you a more precise view on the surrounding. The commander can be looking out of his hatch or in the turret with closed hatch, depending on the situation. The T-34 and the KV-1 have a 360° periscope with magnification, which you get by pressing the key for toggle to gunsight a second time.

The second way to do it is, when in driver's position, enable the auto pilot, then go to commander's position and lead your tank with the command menu, opening when you press 'Tilde'. But this needs quite some exercise, to find the right 'F-'button for the command you want to give.
