Reggie_Mental Posted January 12, 2020 Posted January 12, 2020 Is/will the airspace above Moscow be unlocked? Is it available after achieving a certain certain level in career mode? RSVP

danielprates Posted January 12, 2020 Posted January 12, 2020 I keep wondering how London will be in the upcoming BoN map. Iirc the southernmost part of the city is in the map. Probably will be a no-fly zone too, huh? 1

And finishing off virtually what Goering didn't in 1940. 3
falle96 Posted January 14, 2020 Posted January 14, 2020 (edited) iirc one of the reasons why Moscow was locked off was because the city generation tech when BoM released was fairly inefficient. Now that we have BoBp, and the technological improvements that have come with it, it's not theoretically out of the question that 777 might return to the Moscow map and open up the city. At the very least, I would be surprised if we don't see the cities in the BoN map modeled at the same level of quality as they are in BoBp. (if I'm talking out of my ass please correct me, I'm half-remembering all of this anyhow!) Edited January 14, 2020 by FarflungWanderer

I think the technology must indeed be much better by now, but with everything that is going on, should they spend the time and effort just to give us Moscow to fly above it? I don't see it as high priority. I think the same of London in the BoN map too.

Jason has stated several times that the dev team is fairly humble in size, and I think they're wise to maintain a forward momentum. That being said, if they ever do find the time - or a contractor - to go back to both the Stalingrad and the Moscow maps and give them a bit of a facelift, I doubt anyone would complain! Hell, I'd be willing to pay some money for the upgraded versions of the map if need be. 1
BlitzPig_EL Posted January 14, 2020 Posted January 14, 2020 Just don't try to host one of the "big maps" that have detailed cities, and AI units, on your own computer, then try to play online with your friends on the same machine. Crash O Rama. Every time.
RedKestrel Posted January 14, 2020 Posted January 14, 2020 Even if the tech is better, Moscow is still a capital city and is quite a bit bigger even than the biggest cities we have in the Rheinland map. Koln's population, for example, would be about 500000 people or so during WWII, while Moscow was over 4 million. So eight times larger. Considering how hard the medium sized cities of BoBP are on the engine Moscow would probably still be worse. 1
inexus Posted April 28, 2020 Posted April 28, 2020 (edited) I just tried flying over London in COD yesterday with 'buildings' set to unlimited and the fps was very descent there with around 60fps most of the time (vsync on) in 4K. There is a massive amount of buildings there. It was more CPU limited than GPU limited flying there. Edited April 28, 2020 by inexus
=JFC=Danger13 Posted July 1, 2020 Posted July 1, 2020 Wish i had seen this 2 days ago, just finished a map on Moscow, did the fields, defences, populated city with vehicles and targets, did ai bombing runs into the city. started the map in multiplayer, selected plane, said i was out of the combat area. kinda thought that battle of Moscow would have given Moscow airspace especially as the store page implies that you can fly over it. So far, my only disappointment
