VKB Gladiator mkII: Layout and Input

Hi All, 

I recently got a VKB Gladiator mk2 and found that the layouts were either incomplete or just very messy for a guy like myself. So I spend some time and came up with a new layout. 

*please note that the throttler is different. I struggled finding clean, printer friendly pictures online *

I love to get some feedback on how to improve this.  I added the png on a public dropbox folder which is free to use. 
Also added my own layout for IL2: Great battles with accompanying Input folder.  As well as a .psd layered file for those who want it. 
I used paintshop pro 2020 and if you need anything dont hessitate to ask.  If I dont respond here come find me online on steam discord etc

I use similar layout for grip, but with inverted modes.

 

So green LED (default) mode is "ground mode", and weapons are safety.

 

After take-off switch for red LED and now weapons are hot and ground functions don't work, before landing switch again.

 

Since I use T-Rudder for rudder control  I modify stick twist axis (work only from center to left) and use as progressive "wheel brakes", what in Bo'X work for any plan, regardless if RL use "toe brakes" or "differential brakes".

I understood the Mode 1 onlye  switched the fire buttons and 2ndary hat.   Would;ve been grand if the footkeys were switched too.

Yes, Mode button change only grip buttons and HAT.

 

I have asked for an VKB guru - Flatout, about expand Mode button, but the profile he did including base buttons in modes result a bit confusing for most users.

How did you manage to get a 4 way hat instead of the 8 way POV which is the default config for a new Gladiator mk 2? Apart from this -great work thx for the download link?

One thing I dislike about the layout of the Gladiator is the Mode button. I have accidentally hit it a couple times, not known I was in green mode, lined up for a shot and nothing. I only use the pinky button for mode changes, which are all weapons related in my set up.

 

I also map start button to dive breaks as starting/stopping the engine is as easy by keyboard and is used twice, and at that only mostly once!
