Any tips for improving gunner experience ?

It would be nice, every now and again, to play as a tail gunner (FC).  My experience of trying to control and aim the gun is however not good.  I would expect to be able to have three options, a) Sitting in the turret, able to look around, without any contact with the gun.  b) Controlling the gun, the important feature being that my view point rotates and pitches as I move the gun left/right, up/down but crucially I can still look around, and thirdly, c) Gun sight view,  that enables a comfortable view through the gunsight.

 

The first, “a” I can do, no problem, it’s great.  The trouble comes with the other two, “b” would probably be the best, if only the view point was linked to following the direction of the gun but, as it stands, it’s a bit useless , it’s also a bit jittery, as if there’s some lag in the visuals, that just is’t very pleasant. c) looking through the sight, is just uncomfortable, I don’t like it at all, it’s far too restrictive and nauseating when in a manoeuvring aircraft.  I could see it working as some form of “Focus”, a bit like the “VR” zoom function, but as the only proper way to aim the guns it’s definitely lacking.

 

I imagine it’s all based around the same issues as aiming turrets in TC, maybe TC players have some tips ?  I don’t seem to be able to adjust my view point when playing as a gunner, as I can with the pilots head position and  depending on the gun angle and crew position I find myself integrated with the gun, but not in a good way (nothing bionic about it), is it possible to adjust the gunners enteral head position ?
