Hi,

I'm running into trouble when trying to bind the thumbwheel in the sim.

The buttons are recognized but when turning the wheel in game nothing happens.

Has anybody been able to use it for the gyro gunsight range for exemple?

I hope you find the solution. I am looking to buy this HOTAS setup  (or the Saitek x56)

The rotary wheels on the Saitek x52pro work for range and wingspan on the gyro sight. Although sensitivity is poor. The slider is even worse though.

The first one released, or the current model? Is the thumbwheel on the outside of the right throttle? I have the first one, there is a wheel on the front of the right throttle, not really a thumb wheel, so I suspect you have the newer model.

Ok, that's what I thought. I can bind the wheel on mine to the gunsight, not sure why you cannot bind your thumbwheel. Hopefully someone with the same model will chime in.

I can bind it but it takes 5 or 6 full rotations of the wheel to get a 1yd change in the range value

That might be something that can be modified with the virpil software, dangerous ground for me. Try the virpil forums for info on how to modify the thumbwheel.

This is interesting as I am having exactly the same issue with my Iron Mechanic throttle quadrant. the "click wheels" can be mapped in the settings and are identified correctly but in game they do nothing.

the click wheel on my Saitek x56 worked just fine before I replaced it.
