FPS drop on view change

Hi all,

 

I normally have between 100 and 120 fps.  I have noticed sudden drops in combat which I thought was a function of the amount on-screen at once but realise now it is when I change view fast (with Track IR) or change my zoom.  Is this common - it can go as low as 40 odd.
