Stray Posted April 15, 2014 Posted April 15, 2014 I had quite a few of those from high school right up to the end of university and those long train rides home once a month... Oh the good times. Relics now collecting dust somewhere in my basement. Some day my grandkids will find those going "what the heck is that?" and I bet my walkmen will still be operational in few decades from now.

Bando Posted April 15, 2014 Posted April 15, 2014 Had one that had 8-track. Wow, state of the art that was. Fond memories though. Topic brought a broad smile to my face today.
Trident_109 Posted April 15, 2014 Posted April 15, 2014 That was cool.... though I, like you, feel my age.
Cybermat47 Posted April 15, 2014 Posted April 15, 2014 jesus christ, those kids are stupid. Geez, there's no need to insult them. It's just that those kids weren't around when those things were popular.
johncage Posted April 15, 2014 Posted April 15, 2014 that level of ignorance transcends the "before my time" excuse.
Cybermat47 Posted April 15, 2014 Posted April 15, 2014 (edited) that level of ignorance transcends the "before my time" excuse.I'm 14, and I've never actually seen a cassette-playing Walkman before, so I can hardly fault 5 year olds for not knowing what it is. And no offense, but if you're going to call people you don't even know stupid, not using correct grammar is pretty hypocritical. You have a caps lock key, is it really that hard to use it for the first letter of a sentence? Also, you're judging these kids solely on the basis of not knowing what a Walkman is. And judging people based on one, tiny, absolutely insignificant thing like that is pretty stupid. Again, no offense. Edited April 15, 2014 by [AJSA]_Cybermat47 1
Feathered_IV Posted April 15, 2014 Posted April 15, 2014 I thought they were funny inquisitive and very articulate. Not to mention they are on a show which thrives on expressions of astonishment over old technology. Perhaps you didn't pick up on that John Cage. Not to mention, they are just too cuuute!
