J5_Rumey Posted December 24, 2019 Posted December 24, 2019 Anyone gotten to grips with this error on the albatros model when skinning? As you can see I fixed it in the rgb channels and also in the alpha, nothing visible anywhere of the double. But then when light reflects on the fuselage (that is why I first though it must be alpha channel but nope) I still get this shadow image of it. So anyone found a way to correct this? 1
JGr2/J5_Baeumer Posted December 24, 2019 Posted December 24, 2019 Dunno, but that hint of a red band behind the black of the fuselage has my hopes up for the outcome! 1

J5_Rumey Posted December 25, 2019 Author Posted December 25, 2019 Hi! J5_Gamecock pointed me in the right direction, here is a fixed file it goes into: data/graphics/planes/albatrosD5/textures Also you need to make corresponding change to your .dds file when making skins, this includes changing the alpha channel. Hope this helps someone. https://www.mediafire.com/view/gi8dw5f9jigkrat/AlbatrosD5_B.dds/file

Looks like it shows up on the bump map for the D.Va - that'll be your problem. I had a similar issue with SPAD 13.C1 engine maintenance plate. I don't think there's a fix, as the Bump map affects the 3D model rather than the skin itself. Edited December 27, 2019 by US93_Larner

On my new skins for jasta 5 it does not show anymore. This after I updated the texture file for the Alb see download in post above for the corrected file, and also corrected the .dds file for each skin, also the alpha channel needed to be fixed in my template.
J2_Jakob Posted December 28, 2019 Posted December 28, 2019 Good catch! Now I see I have it wrong on all my D.Va creations so far as well... Never noticed that one. Also, I'll need to spend some time with adjusting the edges to achieve seam-less look of a fuselage band. Perfectly straight band just doesn't quite cut it: Luckily it's not visible when looking at the Alb in-game from distance greater than a few meters and using full zoom. ?
