Mysticpuma Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 Pretty much what it says. I know obviously that BoX plays in VR but I wonder if firstly it is possible to capture VR videos and then secondly if it is possible to view them online in VR? I have a Gear VR headset and would love to show a few friends VR videos of BoX rather than have to boot it up, set Occulus up, load the game.... that's pretty much the question? Cheers, MP
Guest deleted@134347 Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 (edited) it's not exactly on the level yet.. 1) Oculus announced a "360 capture SDK" couple of years back, however I haven't seen anything delivered. https://forums.oculusvr.com/developer/categories/360-capture-sdk-development 2) Nvidia has the capability to take a "VR screenshot" and not a video from the game, which then you can view in the player. It's part of their "360 Ansel" development https://www.geforce.com/hardware/technology/ansel 3) then there's this application, which I haven't tested/used, but some say it may work. The problem with this application is that it records the player's point of view and not the whole 360 3d world, i.e. the viewer of the video won't be able to turn the head around. I suppose this type of a video can induce some serious vertigo vomit for the unprepared. https://store.steampowered.com/app/544420/VRCapture/ Edited December 23, 2019 by Count_de_Money
SAG Posted December 24, 2019 Posted December 24, 2019 (edited) If someone records their video using fraps and use a video player were you disable headtracking, im pretty sure it would work. but im guessing you would get pretty sick since headmovements wouldnt be your own. EDIT: try playing this old video of mine using your gear VR Edited December 24, 2019 by SAG
