Online Direct Purchase - to Steam

I have the base game on my Steam account, and I noticed a special on IL2's website and bought directly after signing in with my Steam account and completing the link.  There doesn't seem to be any direct information on how to then get the DLC over to Steam.  I've done some searching on the subject and it says you can, but the exact method is escaping me.  I've tried using the "Licence Key" in the "activate product" inside Steam but the key isn't recognized.

 

Honestly, the fact that on IL2 you can "link" your Steam account to the website you'd think this process would be more seamless.  I would anyways.

Just to clarify - its this post that made me feel comfortable buying direct from IL2 - and I do want to support them more.  Its just the "how" part is what id like to know.

Did you try starting the game from the steam account? Your DLC should already be there, if you truly linked the accounts.

LOL - you mean did I do the most obvious thing I should have tried???... no, i didn't.

 

I guess I got wrapped up into that thread as if there was something I needed to do.  I opened the game as you said and it was there.  Thank you - though i feel a bit stupid.

Don't worry about it, the system is more opaque than it probably needs to be.

We no longer give out Steam keys now that we have the linkage system. Many thousands of players have done so and it works. Best of both worlds with this system. I’m sorry, but the post I am quoted above no longer applies to current purchases. Simply obsolete.

No problem - and you are right, the new system seems MUCH MUCH more simple/intuitive.  It was automatic, so thanks for making it so easy.  In fact, I just made another purchase through your website since it was so simple.
