It would be nice to be able to save custom free camera positions including their last direction or the last plane they were following

I really love the flight records / replays. They're just fun and really show off how cool the game and battles are.

I think it would be great if we could save custom free camera positions that include their last direction or the last plane they were following. For example, we could save a camera position then go back to it using some key map, and ideally we could save more than one and switch between them. It would be great for switching between existing cameras attached to vehicles or bombs and our custom free cameras. It would also make it easier for people making videos I think.

At the moment we have to pause the game and move the free cameras around then press play to see from those angles. I really love free cameras on/near the ground for attacks/bombing, but there's no way to switch back and forth between plane (tank?), bomb, or free camera without pausing and moving the free camera back to where it was.

I completely agree blah. I've been trying for ages to record results/accuracy of my bombing but, as you say, you can only view it live - static camera view just won't record and I have to place an enemy vehicle nearby to get a record....or are we missing something? Any correction/assistance if we're wrong would be great.

Glad another person agrees! Perhaps there's a keymap or something I'm missing, but I haven't seen a way to do this with free cameras. I would be happy to be proved wrong though! I'll check the camera keys again when I'm back on... never know. There was another suggestion I made which was related to this about "switching to last camera" which maybe was added?? Even that would help, but I figured if they did, or ever do, decide to do that then they might as well let us set custom free camera positions that we can switch between. It would go a long way in making flight records more fun than they already are. it's cool that we can attach to various objects then track our plane (if it's within 3K :( ) or watch it otherwise, but free camera positions are often better since we can customize them to our liking.

I can only make assumptions about their software, but allowing us to set custom camera positions that we can switch to with a keymap like foo + 1, foo + 2, foo + 3, etc (where "foo" is some keymap) seems realistic and approachable. That's assuming multiple free cameras don't lessen performance, but I don't think it would since we already have many possible camera positions already. They're only "active' when you're using them.

Here's to hoping... or finding that this feature already exists somehow.

PS, I'm changing my name. I have never decided on a name I like but hearing "I completely agree blah" just sounded weird lol.

[EDIT] -----------

Also, I know one thing a lot of people do when they make their videos outside of the game is to just use screen capture software like their video card's tools if they exist or things like OBS or equivalent. If you're trying to make videos outside of the game then you can try OBS or search for alternatives if that one doesn't work for you.

It still doesn't make things any easier if you want to edit your existing flight records in-game or if you want to view things from many free camera angles. In the latter case you still have to pause and move the free camera to where you want so it would still be nice if the game had this feature.
