Amiral_Crapaud Posted December 19, 2019 Posted December 19, 2019 (edited) Dear all, I know some of you like carriers - and some of you like them very much (don't you, Discord crowd ?) Here's the latest effort in the category, with a new game just announced yesterday: Sea Power: Naval Combat in the Missile Age In a nutshell - It's made by guys (including one of the two founders) who formerly belonged to Killerfish (Atlantic Fleet, Cold Waters - hence the familiar feeling) but eventually split after the release of CW and created their own, new studio named Triassic. Killerfish goes on with one of the two founders left, they have their own projects - confirmed, but unannounced as of yet ; - It is set in the 1980s (aka the golden age of Redstorm Rising, Reforger, Able Archer & all) ; - It is an homage to Strike Fleet, Fleet Command and the likes. Expect a modern midcore naval RTS with the possibility to control the platforms directly to a certain extent. More details will certainly follow regarding the gameplay ; - They are further along in the development than we are with our own WW2 carrier wargame, so expect some more advanced content soon enough. These are nice guys who got in touch with us very early on and were very supportive of our project - so allow me to return the favour Their game is promised to a beautiful future and if you're made like me, you obviously cannot be excited by what you're seeing. Hell, Tomcats, Intruders, Vikings, Backfires... What is there not to love? They have a Facebook page in the process of being set up, further info will be posted there, I suppose.https://www.facebook.com/Triassic-Games-105804100925194/ At any rate, enjoy the view ? Trooper117 Posted December 19, 2019 Posted December 19, 2019 Crikey... that will get some peoples juices flowing! Not me though. I'm not into the missile age.
Tyberan Posted December 20, 2019 Posted December 20, 2019 Oh yeah, I really liked cold waters. Didn't know they split, explains the lack of updates to it.
LLv34_Flanker Posted December 20, 2019 Posted December 20, 2019 S! Great to se new products coming up :)
Amiral_Crapaud Posted December 24, 2019 Author Posted December 24, 2019 Aye. Yes, the naval scene is finding some of its mojo back. We've been through worse times indeed. Some news screens now from a live chat yesterday at Jives Turkey Enjoy the love! 1 2 1
Gambit21 Posted December 24, 2019 Posted December 24, 2019 Let me know when “Sea Power - Naval Combat Before the Missile Age” comes out
cardboard_killer Posted December 24, 2019 Posted December 24, 2019 Send me your phone number and CC information and I'll make sure to do so.
Legioneod Posted December 25, 2019 Posted December 25, 2019 Naval games have been a major interest of mine recently, especially since I've been trying to join the US Navy past few months. This one looks very interesting and I've always like cold war gone hot games/movies, will definitely be keeping an eye on this. I wonder if they'll have any of the Iowa class battleships that were reactivated in the 80s
Amiral_Crapaud Posted April 13, 2020 Author Posted April 13, 2020 Some more screenshot, some more love ? 2 1
Tyberan Posted April 16, 2020 Posted April 16, 2020 That looks fantastic. I didn't know that the vigilante and f14 was fielded at the same time. Big jets for a carrier
Amiral_Crapaud Posted April 16, 2020 Author Posted April 16, 2020 (edited) 7 hours ago, Tyberan said: That looks fantastic. I didn't know that the vigilante and f14 was fielded at the same time. Big jets for a carrier Close call. One started to be fielded when the other started to get retired. They must not have met much on a flight deck. But I know the makers want to make sure that you can simulate faithfully late 1970s & early 1980s with different variants & configurations, so that might be just for the screenshots! Legioneod Posted April 18, 2020 Posted April 18, 2020 Can't wait for this to come out. I hope the submarine combat is similar to what we see in cold waters but hopefully a bit more in depth. Will we even be able to control submarines/ships or will it be more of a point and click type rts?
dbzero Posted September 27, 2020 Posted September 27, 2020 I’ll have to check and see where this is at. Reminds me of Janes Fleet Command. I had most of the Janes stuff and still have a copy of WW2 Fighters. I re-installed Fleet Command a while back. Hopefully this will be a Command Modern Operations meets Fleet Command. Wonder if they will eventually do a current version with China and the Russian navy. Could also do piracy missions.
Lusekofte Posted October 30, 2020 Posted October 30, 2020 I am too stupid fir strategy games. Got my ass handed to me by bots in Civ 1 but this plane is on top of my wish list together with dauntless
DBFlyguy Posted June 3, 2022 Posted June 3, 2022 FINALLY some gameplay footage!!! Been looking forward to this one since it was announced, hopefully its not much longer before an early access release...
