Performance trouble and 4k

Hello, I had never had a 4k monitor until a few days ago, the problem is that I now have a lot of fps decline and it affects very visibly the performance. Anyone know if it is possible to solve or improve this situation? Thanks.

You need really strong graphics card to run at 4k, with decent frame rates. 2080Ti should do it.

A 1080Ti will run this game very well in 4K but yes you’ll need a strong graphics card.

I have 1080Ti and with the last patch, in the new map, I have to cut eye candy to run smooth at 1440p. I did try it at 4k, but the performance just isn't there.

Thanks to all !! ?. i has returned to the old screen resolution and all working fine (  except game menu that appears slightly blurry but that's not a problem ) ?

I had a 1080Ti and was able to run Ultra, everything maxed at 60fps. What do you have AA set at? That’s a killer in 4K. I keep that at 2x because honestly you don’t need more at this resolution.

At1440p i use 4x and when in 4k i used 2x.  It runs ok in light scenarios, but on the newer maps, with a lot of action, and clouds, the performance drops too low. I just tested it few times and it's not worth it for me. A year or two ago, 1080ti  was almost good enough for 4k, but not in the latest version.

When the minimum frame rate drops below 50fps is time to drop the resolution.

I agree, getting a steady 60fps is more important than resolution. Yes I suppose the new maps push performance harder. I have a 2080Ti now. 

 

 this is embarrassing maybe to admit but when I first got a 4K screen I was running dual Titan X cards in order to get 60 FPS in most games ?

That's why the ice caps are melting. 

 

 If i'd tweak everything i could maybe run at 4k ,but my screen native resolution is 256x1440. I can get the game and card run at higher resolution, by creating a custom resolution and then selecting it in game, but i won't see the difference on the screen. It was good for testing performance, but not worth playing at that resolution. 

I got a lot more by running at native resolution with most of the eye candy, overclocking the monitor from 60fps to 70Hz., and runing Fast Vsync.
