ST_Catchov Posted December 18, 2019 Posted December 18, 2019 They started a craze that's for sure like this crazy fool …. I mean … really? So I've been working on a much better idea ….
Avimimus Posted December 18, 2019 Posted December 18, 2019 (edited) Yes. Although I'd pick a different date: 26 September 1905 Flyer III completes a long flight including turning around and landing where it took off. The award for the first powered controlled heavier than air flight still goes to the Wright Brothers (and the U.S.) when this higher standard is applied... but it removes a lot of the ambiguity and apparent 'gaming' of definitions that people debate. 8 hours ago, catchov said: So I've been working on a much better idea …. Reminds me of Sellers: http://flyingmachines.ru/Site2/Crafts/Craft28570.htm He built one of the first wind-tunnels, put a lot of work into establishing the minimum amount of power required for an aeroplane, and was more open about his research than the Wrights (and even shared information with them).
