Didn't want to "clog" up your inbox.

Just wanted to say this is a great start at communication and I am most appreciative

of the direct answers to the questions being asked.  Many things will probably change

in the near future.  Many Thanks to You and Your Team.

Agreed, it really generates a positive feel in the customers when you have people like Jason answering questions politely and with enthusiasm. This is something that a certain developer (*cough* Eagle Dynamics *cough*) doesn't do but I really wish they would! I'm sure they would benefit from it but apparently they don't see it that way. Oh well, their loss.

Thank-you, Jason! :)

Thanks guys. I certainly have my detractors and occasionally I come across as an asshole, but it's not easy pleasing all simmers. Those that talk to me on TS and in person know I only want the best for everyone in this genre. I always remember waiting for word from a developer about a product I liked and then waiting and waiting some more. I try to be as communicative as possible. Glad you appreciate my efforts. Hopefully we can keep the lines of communication open during this whole adventure just as in ROF.

Salute Jason

Wishing you the best on your new project.

We look forward to seeing a new and innovative World War II Sim!

Congratulations, Jason.

I think you might have accomplished here something more than just a great sim (ROF) - building a sustainable business model in a niche genre where many thought is a structurally unprofitable segment.

Will be watching the development of this sim closely - I hope that you can bring not only the quality of the sim but the business model beyond the ROF level - for example how to incorporate social aspects, crowd-sourced content (free or paid 3rd party mods) and other potential new developments into the model.

Would also love to see one day an article on how this business model came together as a business case study.  Between this and the DCS business model this is an interesting time for simulation segment.

Cheers,

Having spoke to you when I bought the MS FFB joysticks from you last year I know this to be a true statement.

Wishing you all the best in this "Brave New World" you are creating. :)

Good start!

It's almost unbelievable how active this forum is after just few days of its existence.

Looks very promissing.

Fingers crossed.

I know this will all turn out better than any of us could have hoped for. There will always be someone who is not happy..

I feel that the sim is in good hands after the let down that was Cliffs. I know that you will keep us informed with developments and am looking forward to the Eastern Front.

I think yesterday I was in mourning. The banana forum has always been full of negativity about the quality of CLOD, the communication and the broken promises - but I had always been of the opinion that development would continue and that the business model would change to allow it to grow, i.e. pay for downloads of new stuff. I was so sure CLOD would become the greatest WW2 combat sim of all - but that we would just have to be patient. Accepting it will not mature into all we wanted and thought it could be is very difficult.

Previously I've tried RoF but to be honest it doesn't hold the same interest because it is WW1. Having said that I do think it looks good - apart from the mirror water effect.

Today I feel a bit better. I've trawled through this new forum (very nice BTW), and I feel encouraged by what I've read and some of the positivity. I'm particularly impressed by Jason's clear statements. I'd much rather have a firm "that's not going to happen" than a "maybe" that never happens. The important thing here is that there appears to be a future - and so long as that shapes up to be a historically correct and immersive experience I'll be happy.

I wish the new team all the best for the new venture. You have my support... I'm off to buy a RoF plane and give it another go.

I for one am horribly dissapointed by the lack of updates.  I mean if Im rolling out of bed, reading the forums and I DONT see a morning briefing of the days decisions and screenshots of the latest products.  My life for that whole day is just ruined, RUINED I TELL YOU..............

;)       wink wink.

Well, I already wrote this to Jason when the news of BoS broke, but no harm in sharing it:

- Jason, I just want to say that I'm thrilled to see you play a main role in this new endeavour. I remember back in the day when you worked for Naturalpoint but wanted to play a part in sim development. Well, with RoF and now 1C Gaming Studios you have come through big time, so kudos to you!

It is obvious that you have been complementary to the Neoqb team and have helped them out in all the areas where they (and other Russian developers..) have been somewhat lacking: viable business model, sim documentation, etc., etc... - They are Godlike programming geniuses, but like all geniuses somewhat lacking in other areas... :-)

I wish you the best and just want to say that I will do what I can to support you and this new project. As a pre-teen in the early eighties I devoured hundreds of books on combat aviation, WWI, WWII, and later... In my daydreams I flew along with Boelcke, Ball, M???

Thank guys, but don't thank me. Thank Loft, Han, Viks and the rest of the boys in Moscow. They do the really hard stuff, I just try to give it direction and shape and get it to the folks.

But you're the man at the top Jason, in the end, you're the one who tells people what to do. :)
