Back armor for the ME-262?

I am learning to fly the ME-262 and I had a question about online play. Are people finding that the back armor is useful to have? Thank you in advance for your replies.

For the Me262, I would remove all the armor. Personally I would put all the focus on speed. Remove all the extra weight and just never put yourself in a position where you need armor by keeping up the energy and speed.

In reality, the armored headrest was relatively rare on 262s. I've only ever seen it installed on planes captured by the Allies at the end of the war.

This. If playing as a fast bomb delivery device aka Sturmvogel, don´t worry about armor. Speed is life.

And it's what the real pilots did as well. ? KG 51 had a lot of problems with weight and balance when the plane was loaded with bombs, so the solution for them was to either remove the nose armor and keep all 4 cannons or remove 2 of the cannons and retain the armor.

I remove armor and inner cannons for the reasons stated above.

 

Armor for the pilot is useless anyway, in the 262, I consider the engines to be more valuable than the pilot itself, after all, dead engine -> dead pilot

For bomb loaded 262s the rear armor makes sense to help counter the CG shift caused by the bombs at the front. I usually take rear back and head armor, 2 x 250 kgs, remove 2 cannons and frontal armor and the plane handles ok other than the added weight.
