It's probably just as the name suggests. Sadly (unless I've missed something) the IL2 master server fails to display descriptions of servers provided by their admins. Such functionality would have answered your question without having to connect, just as it does successfully in an earlier product from the same company.

There's no 'appears to be' about it, the padlock symbol indicates it is.

It was a test for a online campaign which begins this 9th january. Open to all fellow simmers who understand french langage. (Because we can't speak english !)

The Checksix server is a dedicated server for Il2.
It is implemented by the French-speaking virtual squadron C6.

 

Most often it is used for training and is not locked. (current name : "CheckSix-fr C6 Training Server with bodenplatten map"

 

it can be used for French-speaking campaigns.

 

We are organizing a French-speaking campaign from January 6 on the basis of flying Circus. ( "check six ww1 campaign" )

 

In this case it is locked.
