Corsair123 Posted April 13, 2014 Posted April 13, 2014 Hi I think that the planes in this sim is too fragile, I mean not necessarily under fire, but during landings and crash landings, parts break off quite easily. just now I had rough landing with a messersmith on an airfield (with rough I mean just a little harder than a good landing) and the tail broke off just before my plane came to a stop. And what is happening with the engine on the messersmith? OK I know that if you over rev a engine the valves will get damaget and the engine will stutter and eventually fail, and this will happen fairly quickly. But this is happening at over 83% trottle ?????? Yes I know that you can`t run the engine at max rpm infinitely, but you will get more than one warning that your engine is in agony, and you will have time to salvage the situation without permanent damage to the engine. Here your first clue is black smoke, from my experience when you get black smoke from the exhaust you have missed the first warning which is overheating, but in this sim the engine is at perfekt operating temperature when this is happening. From my experience with piston engines, they can take a lot of punishment before they fail completely is it just me, or do others feel the same? If this is a acurate simulation of the engine, could someone educate me and tell me where I can read about it?
