Night0wl Posted December 11, 2019 Posted December 11, 2019 Msi b450 tomahawk max mobo Amd ryzen 5 3600 Corsair vengeance 16gb ram (3200mhz) Geforce gtx 1070 ti 8gb Will this setup be able to cope with Vr well?
mpdugas Posted December 15, 2019 Posted December 15, 2019 You can use Steam to test the PC, if it's already built, by running their Steam VR Performance test. That will give you a fair notion of where it stands. Also, VR Mark is available to test VR performance, as well. Better to use standardized benchmarks than seat-of-the-pants guesses.
w00dy Posted December 15, 2019 Posted December 15, 2019 I would try and get a more powerful GPU, 1080 minimum for VR That's what I started with for VR and it worked well, I know theirs not a massive difference between a 1070ti and a 1080 but you will need every little bit of that GPU power for VR. 1
SeaW0lf Posted December 17, 2019 Posted December 17, 2019 If you are just building it, consider the RTX Super series. The RTX 2060 Super is faster than the 1080 and should be cheaper than the 1070 Ti. Just don't fall into the trap of the RTX regular series (2060/2070). They were updated with the Super series (much better) and are cheaper. 1

They are all a bit different in what they require. Try to get low latency RAM if you can (3200-CAS14) as IL2 likes this a lot.
