I apologize if this has been covered before, but after buying a brand new rig with the intention of eventually going VR this year, I’ve yet to make the jump.

My biggest concern isn’t so much which VR headset to go with but rather how I’m going to manipulate the multitude of controls this sim has whilst wearing a VR headset. That said, can anyone give me any pointers as to what they do?

I’m currently running an X52 Pro for my HOTAS.

I put grip tape on certain keys so I can feel where I am at.  Once you log some seat time it's all muscle memory.

My set up is a tm16000, rudders, throttle, stick and a 38 key key pad for a poor mans button box

You know F & J have notches/bumps on them from that very reason? Seems like a waste of grip tape ?

Where did you pick up that keypad from? Haha, I’ve got money to burn so I’ve been thinking about adding something like that to my setup.

I have a Gunfighter Pro stick and Warthog throttle, have everything assigned to buttons/axis that I could need, with room to spare.

I use Voice Attack for wingmen commands.

Never have to look at a keyboard whilst flying missions in VR.

If you have money to burn get a proper button box that's fancy, they are around $200.

Here is what I run for $32 it works great.

X52 pro is a very good match for VR.

I have everything I need on my stick and throttle. (including service settings like like pause, hud on/off, recenter ...)

No need to operate the keyboard, also i can use it blind if i like in other games.

I leave a small gap between my nose and the vr headset, i look at the keyboard from that gap. I also use a backlit keyboard to help me see it a bit.

I will never go back to non-vr since the advantage over others is HUGE. plus it makes me a better pilot.

I am also using a X52 and playing in VR with my Rift S.

For some reason i can't seem to get the recenter to work on my joystick.

I have tried to assign that function to various buttons and it still does not work.

Is there another way to do this?

Are you assigning the VR-Recenter?

I believe it is called VR-Default View.

I'm using Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS setup so I've got tons of buttons that all feel different so it's pretty easy for me after playing so long to know where the button I'm looking for is by feel.

I also have a keyboard that has indentions on the A and J keys so it's easy for me to find keys there as well.

Sidenote...I've also got Monstertech Desk Clamps for both my Joystick and Throttle and they are without a doubt the best investment I've made yet for my gaming setup.  Last forever and super easy to clamp on/off to my desk.
