MasserME262 Posted December 10, 2019 Posted December 10, 2019 Having just bought my new rudder pedals (finally no joystick Z axis unnatural movement anymore!!!!), I feel in a rush and feel an urge to buy everything to "equip" my "simulator" at home to add "immersion". So I have been thinking for a while in an elevator / trim and flaps control. I was thinking about something like the 109 control, two wheels manually controlled by the pilot to move the stabilizer and flaps. In other planes, would be different, but being that I mainly fly 109's, It would not be a problem. The thing is, can that be created? Does someone has something like that, or just control the flaps and trim with buttons like I do at the moment? Im not sure on how the axis/buttons mapping works for trim and flaps in the game, hence my question. Thanks in advance!
hsthhsth Posted December 10, 2019 Posted December 10, 2019 You mean a console like this http://www.kanttorinkone.com/console.html ? It certainly does the job for WWI and WWII planes.
MasserME262 Posted December 10, 2019 Author Posted December 10, 2019 something like that, but only the stabilizer and flap wheels, and bigger, and preferably not plastic, like the 109 ones.
SCG_motoadve Posted December 10, 2019 Posted December 10, 2019 Flaps cannot be used as an axis at this point. Stabilizer and trim control yes and it is great to use with a trim wheel, adds immersion for sure. I have two (hoping to get the flaps axis some day). One is the Cessna trim wheel and the other is custom made by GVL.

I always have mine turned off, and use a rudder-like thing that exists behind my throttle joystick. The Z axis does not work because you always tend to rest the weight of your hand on the handle without noticing.
Gomoto Posted December 10, 2019 Posted December 10, 2019 Get a VR headset (HP Reverb) and a X52 pro. Best immersion ever ?
Sokol1 Posted December 11, 2019 Posted December 11, 2019 (edited) Talk with GVL224, he can make a small custom 2/3 axes trim device for you, like the one in this kit. Or from this kit: https://youtu.be/E33d7sloiM8?t=52 Edited December 11, 2019 by Sokol1
III/JG2Gustav05 Posted December 11, 2019 Posted December 11, 2019 I made this for Bf109 by 3d printer. 4 1 8
unreasonable Posted December 11, 2019 Posted December 11, 2019 Wow! What next, just print your own whole 109? 3

NiiranenVR Posted December 11, 2019 Posted December 11, 2019 Gustav - can you mass pruduce , or only one for 'mio ego' ??

Does the trim indication work? I like the whole mechanism, made with chains and everything like the original. If you would produce some to sell…...for sure you will find many customers here in our community. I would love to see a YouTube Video of it in Operation please.

Don not think about it yet, the lead time should be very long if I build it for sale. 13 hours ago, SCG_motoadve said: were you able to make the flaps work with an axis? Good question, This is the game limitation, flaps cannot be mapped to an axis. The solution on my trim wheel is that button A is mapped to moving the flaps wheel forward. button B is mapped to moving the flaps wheel backward. But for sure it is upgradeable for future if game support it. I never fly k4 in DCS. if i build it for sale maybe I should keep both features on it. 16 hours ago, spitfirejoe said: That is really cool, very well made. Does the trim indication work?
