Blue Line and More (posted elsewhere too)

Trying and testing erroneous Ai Ju88 bombing missions via the latest Easy Mission Generator output in the FMB i saw a blue lined square box and a group icon i never saw before. You cannot select or ungroup anything within this blue lined loaded file. Any idea what these are? F.I. you cannot ungroup the 'Chatelet" in the lower corner group it seems.

You can not select or un-group that because it is nested inside another group (which in turn, may be nested inside a group)

The reason you can see the icon is you probably have the tool "show icons in groups" selected.  If you deselect that, the only thing that shows up on your map are objects that either are not in groups, or in groups that are set to working.

 

If you need to get to what is in there:

click on "search and select", then pick "find mission objects"

in the "filter" section, only check groups

in the "double click results" section (lower right), I usually check move camera to object/select object/set working group/close dialogue

 

in the search results, you can find your group by it's ID.  Dbl click on it.  Now the group should be in the center of your map, and selected. Just right click and select "set group to working"

 

now once you have done or looked at whatever it is you want, to get out of that group, right click on the mission title (top line in the mission tree), and select set group to working.
