There is only one TA-152 left in existence, and it is in storage at the National Air and Space Museum's Garber Facility in Suitland, Maryland, in the United States, where aircraft are stored and maintained until they are fully restored for display. I received special permission from Martin Harwit, Director of the National Air and Space Museum, to go and see the TA-152 in the early '90s, and was taken in by Bill Reese, who ran Garber Facility. We pulled the plastic off, and I was able to do a complete photo shoot of the aircraft, including the cockpit, where I was able to lean in and put my hands on the stick and throttle, and touch the instruments. One day I will scan and post all of these photos. Here are a few for now. At separate times, both Martin Harwit and Bill Reese asked me, "Are you doing research? Are you writing a book?" And I said, "No, I just need to see it." Both said, "I understand," and I was given the run of the place. That was a day I will always remember for the rest of my life, the day I saw the Focke Wulf TA-152- Tetsuya Ide

According to Thomas Hitchcock's The Focke-Wulf Ta 152 the identity of this sole remaining machine is possibly Ta 152H-0 W. Nr. 150010, CW+CJ, Yellow 4 of 11./JG 301 then Green 4 of Stab/JG 301: the problem is, no data plates have yet been found on the airframe to prove its identity.

US should transport this air frame to Germany as an 'extended loan' to get it restored. Something could be worked out. Same with any Japanese or Italian aircraft.

All these toys in the attic and they just gather dust or rot. tsk tsk
