Confirming a proper linkage.

Is there anyway to check how strong or weak the link is between my Steam account and my games bought on this web site? The game is crashing trying to play on BOBP servers while all other versions run as they should. I see the names of all the game versions I bought in the start screen after starting the game through the Steam library, but I'm not sure that that's a true representation of what's really going on. I seem to be losing a file on a regular basis after doing a Steam validation, though which file they don't say, unless I'm missing a link, button, etc that will reveal the mysterious file. That might be helpful in this frustrating situation.
