Maybe somebody mentioned this in the past...

Hello everybody!

I guess in the past somebody mentioned this before me, but I would like to ask it again:

-In the future there will be separately horizontal and vertical convergence for the planes?
-In the future there will be custom ammunition belts for the Mgs and Cannons?

I miss this 2 options from the game, very much.

Sincerely, Roland_HUNter

As far as I'm aware, the developers haven't said anything about doing either. They weren't the sort of options normally available to WW2 pilots anyway.

You could adjust your guns if you asked your maintence helpers.  Galland separately  describe in his fighter book: DO NOT change it.(So you could )

I'd rather see a selection list of historical patterns and beltings than the gamey full customization option we had in CloD. That only gets used for minmaxing nonsense most of the time.

For starters I wouldn't mind getting MG shells into German 20mm beltings (as it appears they are absent now, looks like there is only a single kind of HE shells - correct me if I'm wrong).

Certain weapons do allow pilot to choose the belting - sadly, it can't be done for MG 151, FF or Hispano.

Yeah but Galland was kind of a special case, I doubt the rank and file got that option.

After a while a pilot would have a personal aircraft. And reading books about both allied and axis pilots my impression was they got the adjustments they wanted on this specific plane.
Some time other pilots flew it but I haven't read read about problems a guest pilot had to these personal planes

He wrote his book for novice pilots not for himself.
But okay, stay historical: MG 151 belt was: AP(I)/HE-M/HE-M/HE-M/Incendiary(often tracer) (source:Horrido-Des_Jagers_Schiessfibel page 32. -Gallands book) not AP/HE like in the game.

Col. Leonard Moon of the 9th's 404th FG had his crew chief leave the .50 cal barrel sleeves loose so that the crew chief could quickly pull them off on the end of the runway just before takeoff (when certain people wouldn't see).  The result of this was better barrel cooling BUT more turbulence over the top of the wing in high alpha so acting sort of like a stall strip (which is why most protruding barrels have fairings and one reason why the Tempest went to the shorter barrel cannons).  Moon also had an extra arming switch added to the arming panel so he could fire the inboard pairs and outboard pairs of guns separately roughly doubling his firing time.  When asked about losing half his weight of fire he said if four fifties wasn't enough four more wouldn't help much (obviously not much of a gamer - lol).  New pilots weren't given much leeway with their weapons and followed the Group's dictums but as they gained experience and proved themselves anything that would improve their results was at least considered.
