Problem I only just started Having

No probs with this excellent app ever. FC worked, everything worked. Until now! Suddenly, when I click accept mission, it gets stuck endlessly loading

Anyone?

I tried downloading latest version and reinstalling over all of it. same stuff

I have sometimes the case that loading suddenly takes about a minute longer after the red bar is all the way to the right. What feels like endless (usually loading works fast on my system) is maybe one minute if I had to throw a guess. But it happened just a couple of times. So how long is "endless"?

In the java pwgc app. I click accept.mission and it freezes.

Endless is 10.minutes longest wait

I thought Id solved it moving stuff around but then I got a weird error about me262 a (which i own anyways) akd suggestion to post crash dump file

This and career mode not working is disasteous

I made a change to create binaries.  It takes longer to generate a mission but much less time to load it.  It uses the "resaver" executable provided by the game.  I'm not positive but I think something might have changed with the last release of the game.

 

You can turn off binary mission file creation in PWCG:

Main menu->Configuration->User Preferences->set create binary files to 0 (zero)

It is working pretty good for me in latest version. Yeah it takes longer, but not quite 10 min though - at least not for me I don't think will have to time it.

I like that most of the loading is done now from the PWCG GUI, whereas before I was having to wait with a VR headset on for it to load.

Thanks for the fast responses guys.  Let me try it and see how long it tries loasing if I walk awaay (note when I said 10 min load I gave up it didnt work)

Then ill try the binaries. What disturbs me is I was playing the latest version fine even a week ago. Suddenly careet mod doesjt work now this

Also whats the "game root directory"

I searched the forum and  I have the game where Pat told soneone elae. Same with missions. Doesn work now?

Now it says please post pwgc error log in ROD forum.  It says it cant find the path specified??

It went from not accepting nothing to saying it cant find missions folder. I even created missions folders where they dont go

2nd pop up says mission loggibg not enabled. I checked. It is?!

Whats the game root directory or where does pwgc want to #####n go it is where it worked.

2nd fhe missions folder never moved. I dont get that error.

3rd im NOT postinf my crash dump on the RoF forum I domt think Mr Wilson would see it ( lol)

Root folder is where you have BoS installed. 

If it can't find path specified ... might be in the wrong place and it can't find the mission directory?

But the mission directory is where Its always been, its where it saved files previously.  Further weird, how can it not see it when the folders there? Suggestions? If I delete ALL trace of PWGC and then reinstall will that work perhaps?

Root folder .. I get that msg installing it where I was originally told to.

Which is in the il2 strum great battles/pwgccampaign/pwgcbos  THIS ALWAYS WORKED BEFORE

I get the config thing telling me to have mission recording at 1. Its already there though!

Pat I did a totally clean install. I installed it where it always installs. It says its not in game root directory

do you see any obvious errors?

Unzipping literally into just the IL2 folder gets same error. Is there a way to define what the root folder is, because it sees NOTHING as a root folder

Just cutting and pasting the exception might help.  Another possible issue is permissions.  Since IL2 is installed under "Program Files"  maybe run PWCG as admin?  The install directory looks correct.

Ok let me see if I can run as admin, pretty sure it does. Ill copy and paste my various errors

"run in wrong directory. needs root directory" ( strangely this doesnt crsh. you can make a career and everything. when you accept mission you get this error)

if I try to go through when accept mission::

Please see error log file and post in RoF forum. it gives the exact path of WHERE my missions folder IS INDEED LOCATED and then uses the name of my campaign and says the mission 1 file cannot be found!

 

Do you want erors for where I installed it other places?

Edit: Problem resolved.  I had mucked with some advanced settings that basically made the mission piss itself.  That's what I get for messing with settings while drunk and watching football.....
