Mysticpuma Posted December 3, 2019 Posted December 3, 2019 Trying to get into editing some footage but having a few issues using the cameras. Maybe I am missing something but here's a selection. External of my aircraft, F2, choose to padlock the enemy, zoom in but can't see the enemy as it is blocked by my aircraft. Try to move the camera around. Locked. The only way I can see my aircraft and the enemy is to zoom out.... which defeats the point. Is there any way to offset the camera when zoomed in? Flying along, hit F11, drops a camera in that position. Is it possible from that camera to then padlock the aircraft from that camera dropped position. Still messing around but those two are if possible are questions I could really do with having help for, cheers, Mysticpuma
Elem Posted December 4, 2019 Posted December 4, 2019 Personally, I never fly zoomed IN. I find fully zoomed out is a more realistic seating position giving a better all round view and still able to view targets in the gun sights.

You can't adjust the camera positioning at all from there. I would love to do that for cinematic purposes but it doesn't seem to be a thing right now. With F11 you can then padlock aircraft. I'm trying to remember the muscle memory on this because I do it all the time but I think it's Shift or Alt F8. Definitely possible to padlock from F11 free camera view. 1
unreasonable Posted December 4, 2019 Posted December 4, 2019 (edited) It is Right Shift+ F8 At least for me: I am fairly sure I have not changed that from default. The camera will stay in it's original position, padlocking centers the picture on your plane, (or the nearest?) the camera will not move along with the plane. Edited December 4, 2019 by unreasonable

Understand.....it's just that with After Effects and Premiere some cool stuff can be done and having the possibility to move the camera around allows better composition of shots. 12 minutes ago, ShamrockOneFive said: Not much can be done with the F2 padlock. The inability to offset the camera position in padlock is a pain though
